registry edit for morpheus 1.3.3 reconnect

hi i found a registry edit which worked for my much to old 1.3.3

i replaced a 0d (red)

by a 05 (yellow)

and it stopped saying its to old and connected after a while

afterwards it replaced the 05 by 18
but it reconnects after restart

Well, I've now managed to get in thanks to the reg editting, but with 43 users only. Will try to reconnect.

it's a rather simple fact for me. it lasts very long until i install a program, which opens something from my computer to others. then when i have watched it a while and it turns out that it does no harm and i understand what it does, then i hang on it and try to keep it as long as possible.

i'm bit fascinated by the possibilities of FastTrack p2p and if there were a commandline tool opensource like giFT that worked, i wouldn't hesitate a second to drop morph and all that funky windows things and take it.

btw, kazaa has 11 in that 4th slot.. all the other numbers are the same.

I imagine this new cloudload must be the "technology" which morpheus was incompatible with. and i assume grokster 1.5 must have this feature too since it isnt supposed to have problems right now.

Mine doesn't look like your. There was an 08. Mine never said version too old. It just wouldn't connect. I changed it, still doesn't connect.

ok i changed mine from 17 to 05 (decimal). the 'new version' pop-up vanished but morpheus wouldn't connect. then the pop-up returned - and morpheus connected, and for the first time today! the stats were way off tho - "262 users online sharing OK files, 1.5 GB" (ok files?). that wouldn't work so i closed and relaunched. the pop-up came back, morpheus would not connect and my registry entry changed to a 19.

i changed it back to 05 and once again the same process repeated itself. good work it looks like you're close indy!

btw, i think what's happening is i'm getting stuck in one node, and it might even be mine. 262 users is about average for a node, maybe a little less actually but we know the network's contracted so that's a good estimate. why it's intermittent, why i can't get back in eveytime, is unclear.

its the 4. byte from the beginning

if you watch connections with

netstat -n 1

you can see that it tries to connect to ips which are stored in the connection info - most seem to reject a connection - i think only the morph 1.3.3 supernodes allow one - if it does not connect - then you have no such ip in your connection info.
looks like the morph supernodes had no connections to other sn any more and when they close down you lost too.

I am sure you have noticed some users who say either they don't get the "too old" message or have no trouble connecting.

My Morpheus never gave me the "too old" message, and after I looked in the registry I found that there was allready an 18 in the fourth position...

So it looks like you are on to something there...

I'm also running Grokster right now and just a bit ago connected with 900203 users sharing 1909K files????
That is just over 2 files per user????

And I did a registry search and there is no reference to "CloudLoad" at all...

Cloud load installs, the kazaa from the netwrok.

Edit cloud load, and complie, instead of searching for and downlaoding kmd.exe set it to, cruelintentions (divx).avi or some other file.

for all those who still hang on a "to old" morph 1.3.3 and cannot connect.
mine works with the regkeys below and, what a miracle, also learned to estimate those fantastic user and file and gigabyte numbers.

i contains some netinfo setting getting rid of the "to old" and supernode ips, which still seem to accept oldies but are connected to the net too.

okay it cannot logon to the central server and shows the ??? in the username - but who really cares
i put this here in plain text for the suspicious, for all others i attached a zip with the reg - but if you use it - 1. backup yours
