Default a morpheus question

if this has already been posted, forgive, i did a search but found not...

the question is this: why does morephus list some mp3s as band. this is mega irritateing to me when im searching, and i just noticed that some of the ones i have shared have the same prob. i remove all mp3 tags, and still some say band, while others say who the artist is. theres no 'refresh' option in morpheus i can find.

any answer greatly appriciated

if you mean your local listing in "My Media" - you can "refresh" it by deleting the .dbb files in the DB folder.

if you delete them, all your edits in "My Media" are gone! iknow no possibility to backup/restore them.
  1. you must close Morpheus first
  2. delete the data1024.dbb and data256.dbb (you could make a backup first)
  3. restart Morpheus - it builds new dbb files, scanning all the shared folders including the MP3 tags.
but i think Morpheus is only able to handle ID3V1 and not ID3V2 tags.
id you d/l a mp3 and change the tags permanently, you actually "make" a new file, which is not used as "multisource" anymore.

hey indi, thanks. good answer, worked fine. the reason i remove ALL mp3 id3 tags is that i dload whole cds, use the same nameing convention on all, and when its all said and done, i can sort by title and they line up in the correct order in winamp. if all the weird ass sometimes incorrect id3 tags are still on em, no line up in right order.

rock on dood, and happy hunting
