Default WinMx Oddity

today while running winmx unattended (wpnp+12 opennaps), i returned to find about 20 of my own shared songs sitting in the upper download transfer page, as if they were waiting to be downloaded by me! all d/l activity on them was reported as incomplete.

i have no idea how my songs wound up in my download queue or why. i was d/l'ing only one different song from another user before i left, and i had 5 u/l's going as usual. this is the first time i've seen anything like it. anyone heard or experienced this or have a theory?

Wink

Hasn't happened to me but you can of course download from yourself by hotlisting and browsing yourself and then just picking the files you want just like from anybody else!

It could be that since you've become a mod you've developed multiple personalities. Notice any schizophrenia lately?
I hope all the pressure isn't getting to you.

btw I understand slx chats with and downloads from himself all the time!

Wink

If I remember correctly on old Napster boards there was a term coined for obsessive downloading from oneself: napsterbation.

Brows Incestuous files?

Never seen my own files in the download section, but occasionally I see my lists in a search, this seems to be due to using different user names on multiple server connects?

For example, often when you get dumped, trying to get back in will result in an "Already logged in" message, so a quick modification of the "nick" allows instant re-connect, but causes problems when you do a search, you find your own files, which is annoying but not serious, I must say I never tried to download any of mine, but perhaps I'm too old for such things as TG's suggested name...??

Snark..
