maybe they decided it was bad press made a healthy contribution to the campaingn and asked him nicely not to mention it any more or something...or it was just a PR stunt on behalf of the mayor

To date, The Boston Beer Company has not returned Mark and Dave’s phone calls. “We wanted to give them (The Boston Beer Company) a chance to join us at the hand-over party and apologize for not doing their due diligence to discover that there is indeed a Sam Adams running for Mayor in Portland Oregon before firing off before their nasty letter” says Dave Anderson. “In protest, we will not serve SAMUEL ADAMS® beer for the evening.

Instead, Mark & Dave will encourage guests to consume a special Mark & Dave First Amendment Ale which will be on sale at McCormick & Schmick’s Harborside at the Marina during the party and until the restaurant closes that evening. McCormick & Schmick’s will donate a portion of the proceeds from the Mark & Dave First Amendment Ale to the KEX Kids Fund.
