Before I install WinMX since I've never used before, does it give you the option to hide your entire folder contents like Kazaa so people can DL specific files but not see entire contents so spying eyes of RIAAA won't get you?

No it doesn't. But it's irrelevant, because 'the RIAA' doesn't care what's in your folder (how do they find you in the first place?) but rather they run searches to see who has the items they are interested in.

The search seems to be mucked up.
A search for CCR and I get no results but a search for creedence clearwater revival returns tons of results most with ccr somewhere in the title, and some with ccr but not the full band name.
Strange.
Quite annoying.

That's odd. ccr gets results here.

Don't know what the problem was but uninstalling and reinstalling fixed it.
May have been because I installed it without uninstalling the beta version first.

sounds about right. haven't used it a long time but i went thru many beta tests with that pgm, sometimes 3 upgrades in as many days. if i remember they always stressed unistalling before installing. they were never big on over installing.
