I love hearing when people discover new/unheard of groups for the first time. I cringed when I hear others say "my favorite band is Outkast" or what have you, since they're only allowing themselves to hear "popular music" which suck's! There are so many bands/artists out there that don't get enough air-play (or none at all) which is another thing that sucks! Anyway, let me know if those radio stations happen to play some "Modest Mouse" ok?

I absolutley will let you know if I hear Modest Mouse...i always know who's playing because the name is scrolled on my radio. I cant believe how much good music I have been missing...Ive been listening to all my linkin park, staind, and evanescence to death and come to find there are sooo many awesome bands out there that are as good and sometimes better than the mainstream bands that are on heavy rotation on FM. Im listening right now to Skrape..*shaking head* I look up these "new" bands (new to me) and find that they are on thier 2nd and 3rd album already...shesh....I've been missing out...

Oooh XM radio ... I wish

ive heard a fewof those bands, and a few of them get decent air time on the rock station where i live. Shinedown's song 45 is amazing++! Ive been thinking about talking to my band about learning it to play instead of something like sublime - what i got or blues travler - run around.

Thrice and Ill Nino have been featured on "Rock Line" which is a nationally syndacated talk radio show that interviews rock bands and plays some of their tracks...i didnt really care for either of them.

After my bands originals get copyright approval ill post links to them so everyone can enjoy the sensation known as Semiblind ( i know...cheep plug...gotta get the word out somehow...lol)

You're absolutely right. Lacuna Coil are just awesome. I always thought Evanescence lifted their style heavily from them. I came to know about Lacuna Coil since I am a big fan of Paradise Lost (early works) and My Dying Bride.

lol how ironic i just recently got a bunch of modest mouse. i especially enjoy their song 'dukes up' from the sad sappy sucker album. if anyone enjoys modest mouse they also may want to check into neutral milk hotel. at any rate, my friend also has satellite radio (he has sirius though) and absolutely loves it. he has the same experiences that you do, honeybee, that he finds out about a lot of different bands he would never have heard of otherwise.
