U.K. doctors and hospitals want to deny free care to chronically unhealthy and unworthy citizens.

Smokers, heavy drinkers, the obese and the elderly should be barred from receiving some operations, according to doctors

health service cannot afford to provide free care to everyone.

An unmentioned side benefit is the reduction of welfare and housing and probably justice system burdens as the unfit have to face the process of natural selection.



It's already been happening:

About one in 10 hospitals already deny some surgery to obese patients and smokers, with restrictions most common in hospitals battling debt.
