Because it has a technology implemented, which allows to find the buddy in a new online session again. even if there is a new IP adress. Secure sharing and serverless Instant Messenger.

"Retroshare Instant Messenger is working on the implementation of Turtle Hopping. Turtle Hopping allows you sharing and downloading from friends of friends. You do not establish a direct connection to them, nor do you need to sign their trust (as you do not know them as trusted) - you just ask your trusted friends to download from them and they send you the wanted file.

More of a surprise is that this isn't the leading claim of the software, since it's the one that that limits darknets.
