It's a social discovery! Alpine P2P
Potential up & comer of P2P? based on getting info from expert users. Maybe the About.com of filesharing.
Also claims ability to have modules added in the future to allow searching of different networks. Overview of Alpine Alpine Home |

nice find twinspan. skimming the developers' faq page shows a very powerful potential program, but also a very complicated one. it seems to have a full wish-list of features that more experienced p2p users have wanted for months, but at a large cost: users will have to constantly configure and monitor this application for it to perform efficiently, even normally. while it's always good to have options i'm not convinced that the world will take to alpine as the much needed next generation p2p. and if not then the file counts may be lacking, which would further keep user counts down.
now if the developer automated these special features perhaps using a heuristic approach, that might make all the difference. in any event we'll have to wait for an alpha (or at least a beta) before we can speculate with any real authority. great start tho, really. it's good to finally see some creative thinking and solutions that users need - not advertisers. - js. |
