never mind - it's an old and quite tasteless joke....but how about the Guv of New Jersey?

TRENTON, N.J. -- After achieving a lifelong dream by becoming New Jersey's governor, James E. McGreevey gave it all up Thursday, acknowledging that he had lived a lie.

A twice-married father of two who had proudly discussed his Catholic education and deep faith, McGreevey said he would leave office because of an adulterous affair with another man.

what a fall from grace, but he did the right thing - no stonewalling, just stood up and said this who i am:

On Thursday, both his parents and his wife, Dina, stood stoically by his side as he announced: "My truth is that I am a gay American."

and such a nice boy from Joisey he was:

As a politician, McGreevey took any opportunity to speak about his middle-class views. He grew up Irish-American in Carteret, spent summer weekends at the Jersey shore, and served as an altar boy at mass every Sunday for a dozen years.

gay or otherwise, America loves a stand-up guy - this one will land on his feet and end up doing quite well (think of the book deal he could put together!). i'd bet money he ends up back in politics some day.
