Default Pink

recently i dissed this chick, and well i feel bad about it now, cause she kicks ass for a pop star chickey babe.

a good friend recently came over with a couple bottles of wine, and said "dood go download this song now, Pink - Dont Let Me Get Me" and what do you know, its good. very good. it has some interesting depth that very little modern pop does. so after the wine and my bud were gone, it occured to me "hey think ill dload some videos" so i hit kazaa light, and first got Dont Let Me Get Me and its great. hmmm, so i just select all Pink videos that came up, got You Make Me Sick(the very song i dissed) ok song, good video. then i get Lets Get This Party Started, and wow, cool song, and great! video. this chick very talented.

i dig Pink

from cd now

A key moment on Pink's new CD occurs midway through the second track. "I'm tired of being compared to damn Britney Spears," sings the fuchsia-haired 22-year-old in a voice that blends weariness and defiance in a way that belies Pink's youth. The line is less a slam against Spears than a declaration of a desire to loosen the shackles of dance pop diva-dom. With Missundaztood, Pink takes a giant step in that direction.
To be sure, Pink continues to work her groove thang on much of Missundaztood, but equal time is given over to some genuine stylistic risk-taking. "Just Like a Pill," for instance, boasts a driving pop-rock beat shot through with an '80s retro vibe. Likewise, the Fiona Apple-ish "Numb" comes charged with sex-and-danger melodrama, and finds Pink oscillating between a whisper and a scream.

Elsewhere, Pink shows she's no slouch at bringing raw emotion to a ballad, provided the song is worthy of the effort. The soul-searching "Lonely Girl," for example, brims with the subtle urgency of a real quest. Similarly, on the gospel-y "Misery" (a duet with Aerosmith's Steven Tyler) Pink comes off as a gifted torch singer wise beyond her years.

Indeed, when listening to Missundaztood one can't help noticing that Pink, as a vocalist, rises or falls in accordance with the strength of her material. In that regard, much credit is due former 4 Non Blonde member Linda Perry, who wrote, co-wrote, and produced much of Missundaztood. On her debut, Pink proved she could sing. This time around, she shows she knows how to inhabit a song.

I liked Pink when she first came out as an R&B chick and I like her now. She made a smooth change cuz she can pull off both.
