Actually, it seems to be a good idea.

Liberalists and conservatives now have a special forum area where they can trade jabs at each other.

Another way to look at it is that if you grow tired of the political discussions, you don't have to look at it in the main forum threads. If you want to participate, it's right here in an easy to find place.

The content should distill to commentary by the "die hard" participants because only they will venture here, folks who make passing comment because the thread was under their nose will probably be sidestepped.

It wasn't my idea, but I kind of like it.

yes, it is a good idea...it was considerate to establish a separate forum, instead of not allowing political debates at all.
