Default Question for Pink Floyd freaks...

There is a Pink Floyd cover of Dylan's "Knockin' on Heaven's Door) floating around the Internet...it's incomplete (only about 2 minutes long) and sounds as though it might be off a movie soundtrack or something...it sounds like a great version of the song and I'd love to know where to get the whole song - anyone know what cd/soundtrack it might be from?

if its real Pink Floyd, ie before Roger split, then i would recognize it in a second. but im not a Bob fan, dun own any of his cds(and Bob live is one of the only concerts ive ever walked out on, came to see the warmup bands), but nonetheless, ill see if i cant find that song, listen to it, and with any luck, be back with the answer...

here i go...

Cover for the movie "The Dybbuk of the Holy Apple Field".

The Dybbuk Of The Holy Apple Field
Film, Schweiz/Germany/Israel, 1998. Music by Rick Wentworth and Roger Waters.

Roger Waters recorded a coverversion of 'Knockin On Heaven's Door' (Bob Dylan) for this film. He is collaborating with Rick Wentworth on the opera 'Cá Ira'.

There is no indication at this point that the soundtrack has been released, nor that it will be. All evidence suggests that the cover of "Knockin' On Heaven's Door" is Waters' sole contribution to the soundtrack.

A trailer for the film which includes a bit of Waters' song near the end can be found at http://www.mediaweb-tv.com/english/i...17/dybbuk.html The clip is in RealVideo. Slower connections should expect poor quality.

...nails it completely - thanks! so i wonder if the fact that everyone seems to have the 1,800k version means the complete song does not exist (with the possible exception of what Nanook mentioned)? if that's the case, it's a pity...

anyway, Nanook, if you run across it and get ahold of it, PM me...I'll figure something out. Thanks for looking!

well, Nanook isn't so resourceful as Hellbound.
here's a screenshot.

not many at this hour. (maybe never)
looks to me that the user i quoted above, may have had the version i'm seeing here with the same time of 5:29, which includes Led Zeppelin.
sorry, knife.
u may be right.
there may not be a "whole" version of the song.
unless some very resourceful person can find one.
good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!
