Default Belly up?

/. (http://www.slashdot.org) is reporting on the further death of KaZaA, and how it has decided to roll over and play dead when it comes to battles with the RIAA. (I dont blame them. As the RIAA can play a mean game of hard ball.)

What most disapointed me upon reading this is I was looking forward so much to be part of Brillant Digitals altnet.

It's only the Dutch company Kazaa BV that has gone belly-up.

Sharman, "Brilliant" Digital and the Fasttrack and Altnet networks are still alive and kicking. (for now)

Kazaa BV knew this would happen, that's why they sold out to Sharman.

Cool Still alive and well...

This quote is from a ZDNet News article: Kazaa, Morpheus: Time to surrender?

Quote:
Despite their court filing, Kazaa BV's founders already appear to be licensing the FastTrack technology though another company. According to documents filed with federal regulators in the United States, a company called Blastoise--owned and operated by the Kazaa BV founders--has already licensed the FastTrack technology to a Los Angeles company named Brilliant Digital Entertainment.

According to those documents filed April 1, Blastoise--operating under the name Joltid--licensed the FastTrack technology to a Brilliant Digital subsidiary called Altnet, whose software contains the core of a new peer-to-peer network. Blastoise also took a 49 percent stake in Altnet, according to the filing.
So it appears they are still in business for now...
