streamcast/morpheus: no, go after the individuals who use our software:

The attorney representing StreamCast, which distributes the software, suggested the studios should be targeting the people who use the software to distribute illegal copies of films rather than the software itself.
thanks js for the article...very interesting. streamcast could say, not only go after our users, but here is their ip and usage info. right? very disturbing.

no kidding. and you won't hear about that in chat #help either. we've got to have protected ip#s. been saying it for months.

Default amazing story that is for sure

Rather amazing.

Somehow though I don't think that a software company can make something obsolete that a user is using after it has been sold and paid form.

Pehaps not sell more "software" to a bad client but what exists surely is protected.

Judge Wilson said he recently used Morpheus himself to download songs from the Internet in preparation for the trial.

''I wanted to see how this works,'' he said. ''I tried it. It works. I got some nice music.''

i think it's fine with this.
  • it's proved by judge that it works and is nice.
  • if something's proved by judge that it is nice it soon will become law that it has to work
  • since it stops working if users do not share, those brake the law
  • conclusion: in near future, those will be sentenced, who do not share - at least by Judge §. Wilson
(heard, surprisingly he bought a 100GB harddisk and got himself a T1 connection recently)

lol, I once had a guy with the user name JudgerWillison@musicicty.com download about 30 Divx;-) movies from me.

Really used up my bandwidth.
