Question downloading prob. @ cnet

Well, I don't know what to say. It seems that I am at an impass. I can't download the new Morph preview edition, or Kazaa from cnet. When I click on either of these selections I get a Gateway timeout. Although the opinions of the new preview edition have been less than favorable, I'd like to get back on track again. (going through download withdrawal) Has anyone else run into this problem, or is it just me? I am left scratching my head and searching for p2p software that will make me smile again. Any suggestions, would be appreciated. Weird.....

Check out JackSpratts' thread in this forum on how to install Grokster without spyware. It's the same network Morpheus used to connect to, and the program is almost exactly the same too. I saw this method on Zeropaid a few days ago, and it worked really well for me.

If you want to connect to Gnutella, which is where the new Morpheus client connects, this is probably a better option than Morpheus: http://cleanlimewire.com

cg - unless you specifically have to get the brand morpheus and all the adware that comes with it, get the actual gnutella client it's based on: gnucleus. streamcast did a very quick and rough paste job on this much better application.

and the best way to get back on the fasttrack network is not with kazaa (infested with crap) but with a cleaned version of grokster. easy instructions with links are here. super duper instructions with pictures and everything - here.

- js.

edit - just saw fantoms' post. what he said!

If you think you are cranky now... Go ahead and try the Preview...

For some real fun go to chat.musiccity #help and hang around awhile... I was in real early this morning - no "Real" mods around - actually was able to help people some. One of the wannabe mods recognized my nick (xp_rulez) and started asking me questions... They were also providing that link to "super duper instructions with pictures and everything" and warning people away from KaZaA...
