Question Whats your fav program for getting large sized movies?

I love iMesh, but it lacks the selection I'm looking for. Edonkey has the files, but keeps crashing my computer. So I guess I'm in the market for a new program for getting movies. I prefrer movies in the 600 to 700 size range (I'll say it myself: I'm fussy about quality)

I've only used those 2 so far, because those are the only ones I know of that downloads from multiple uses at once.

Please share experiences you've had with different programs.

Thankie.

hello Dawn,

with morpheus down, i am using grokster...common current dvd rips are pretty easy to find and you can keep looking for more sources to add to the multi-source function...great for 700mb dvd rips. some i have gotten at least part of the time at my 150k max, which is also useful with such large files of course... i also love the quality difference with those in the 700 range(usually dvd rips), but for good movies can deal with the cam quality...find myself forgetting about the quality/engrossed in the film.

Default ...no other jabs? guess morph/grok/kaz is the best then...

no one else has any input on this? here are my results from last night:

Grok on all night: 1 part from each of 2 different movies
Queen of the damned and Crossroads
yesterday both parts of supertroopers

WinMX on all night: 52kb of one movie(out of about 30 sources tried...hmm...) i uploaded probably only 500mb, alot of lost connections "timed out (waiting for server...)"

there are definitely more 'hard to find' movies, but cant get them...no one answers messages requesting trade off.

napmx works great though...

got banned from some sharing 114 files.

I did get grokster last night. I started a download, but it was quite slow.

I was looking for Joy Ride, and iMesh had only the small size movie. I decided to just get it, because I wasn't having luck finding the 700 MB one anywhere. I got both parts in about an hour.

Damn, I sure wish iMesh had more of the 700 MB movies. I'd be a happy camper.

haha you guys are still downloading 700meg movies, lol i can one movie, split up into 3 parts, each part is 800 megs add up 3 800 meg parts you get like 2 gigs of a movie, and thats just the popular files like lord of the rings, any other movie you can esily get 700 megs for a regular not so popular movie.
i can start downloading 5 files, weither it be game iso's or movies and at 12-20k a sec(thats around what i normally get) i leave it on at night and their all done in the mourning, the only problem ith direct connect is if you dont have a big hard drive, then direct connect is gonna suck, you atleast need a 20 gig or 15, and it would be good if you have a 30 or 40 gig, i use a 100 gig, you can also download os's.

ill upload a screenshot if you want. but i cant right now, i gotta go to the doctor.

Oh, you're so clever! Please share more of your wisdom with us! There's a reason there are so many 700mb movies around: they fit on a single CD. If I want a 2gb movie, I'll just get the DVD, thank you very much.

And in case you haven't noticed, LotR is 3+ hours long, which is part of the reason it always comes in 3 parts, in fact, I have never seen a 700mb version of it, I assume it would suck quality-wise.

igzaaactly

btw, it seems more of the new dvd rips are coming in 2 700mb parts. i gave it a go with rat race, and the quality was the best i had seen, but don't think i would like to go that route again since most 1 part(whole movie on 1 cd) 700mb versions are very good, dont need better.

i noticed this on AI and Knight's Tale also...hard to find 1 part versions from dvd source.

Yep, Spy Game was two 700MB parts. I cant say that it was that much better.

Memento 708,220kb
Swordfish 712,952kb

got them all overnight on grokster, not bad for ~2 gigs!

my connection 1500down/128up.
