Download it here:

http://www.slsknet.org/download.html

you need to use the latest version to connect. current : v152

check their site now and then for updates because if their network is up but you no longer connect, you most likely need to get latest version

There isn't a lite or hacked version. No spyware.

There's no differences that I can see in the client software itself. I assume the new revs are done because of changes in their network but not sure. Maybe they answer it on their forums. Works on my rig, thats all i know.

yes,english.

soulseek is easy to use. get the latest version (i have it - v.152) install and go. it's in english. there is no lite or clean version simply because the regular version is spyware free already. there is a recuring capacity problem with soulseek and it seems to get dos'd a lot so don't be surprised if you can't get on, or if you suddenly have to "upgrade". these things are normal for the program and shouldn't cause too much concern. a bigger issue is lenghtening cues. most serious users now pay to use it and they get cue privledges. mere mortals find the waits getting longer and longer. not a penny of that $5 monthly vig makes its way to the artists btw. still, you don't have to pay to use it (send that fiver direct to the riaa) and when it works it's great place to get clean rips and full cd's. it has some special features like wishlists and serious trading roms. i use it almost everyday.

a helpful hint that i take advantage of is this:

i'll set in my properties that i only share with those on my list. if i download from someone on slsk, i'll add them to my contact list...therefore enabling them to download from me. i'll also make it a point to msg each user i get stuff from and see if i could trade some tunes to move faster through the que. nothing too spectacular, but it works. great program slsk is.

I don't see why that guy's getting so pised at all the people, when it's obvious to me at a 10 second glance that it's the application that sucks. Misplaced rage if I ever saw it.

hes good at being pissed off and funny at the same time

i agree it does point at flaws in the way the client works...soulseek does seems bad for accumulating partaily downloaded temp files imo
but i have never had any major complaints only being a very casual user..
its good for finding weird samples&loops.rfl..ect
