Default here we are, stuck by this river

you and i underneath the sky thats ever falling down
down
down
ever falling down

through the day, as if through an ocean

waiting here, always failing to remember why we came
came
came
i wonder why we came

you talk to me, as if from a distance

and i reply with impressions chosen from another time
time
time
from another time

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

(smoother than smooth, playing with the vocal box set, ahhhh)

spider & i
sit watching the sky
on a world without sound
we knit a web to catch one tiny fly
for our world without sound

we sleep in the morning
we dream of ship
that sails away

a thousand miles away

btw greedy, if you haven't heard it, the cover of this by The Hope Blister is well worth a listen

i searched on Kazaa and no find

ya know,

i bought this set for the songs i dident have on cd(7 deadly fins, Belldog, ect.) but i just remembered that these cds are kick ass sounding with 20? bit encodeing. nice box set. Ramona, do you have the non vocal box set? is it worth the money? i already have most of the ambient albums. i been drooling over early pressings of oblique strat cards on ebay, gonna have to break down pretty soon.

baby's on fire, better throw her in the water

look at her laughing, like a heifer to the slaughter

baby's on fire, and all the laughing boys are bitching

waiting for photos, oh the plot is so bewitching

rescuers row, row, do your best to change the subject

blow the wind blow, blow, lend some assistance to the object

photographers snip-snap, take your time she's only burning

this kind of experience, is necessary for her learning

if you'd be my flotsam, i could be half the man I used to

they said you were hot stuff, and that's what baby's been reduced to

Fripp bliss

Juanita and Juan, very clever with maracas

making their fortune, selling second-hand tobaccos

Juan dances at Chico's, and when the clients are addicted

he empties their ashtrays, and pockets all that he's collected

but baby's on fire, and all the instruments agree that

her temperature's rising, but any idiot would know that

Big Laugh OH NO IT'S ENO! :)

I have:

Eno, Brian - Discreet Music
Eno, Brian w/Robert Fripp - No Pussyfooting
Eno, Brian - Here Come The Warm Jets
Eno, Brian - Taking Tiger Mountain By Strategy
Eno, Brian et al - 801 Live
(Kevin Ayers/John Cale/Eno/Nico) - June 1, 1974
Eno, Brian - Before and After Science
Eno, Brian w/Robert Fripp - Evening Star
Eno, Moebius and Roedelius - Cluster & Eno
(Eno, Moebius and Roedelius) - After The Heat
(Harmonia 76 (Eno, Moebius, Roedelius and Rother)) - Tracks and Traces
Eno, Brian - Ambient 1 - Music For Airports
Eno, Brian w/Harold Budd - Ambient 2 - The Plateaux of Mirror
Eno, Brian w/Laraaji - Ambient 3 - Day of Radiance

Eno, Brian - Thursday Afternoon
Eno, Brian - Neroli
Eno, Brian - The Drop
Eno, Brian (Bang On A Can) Music For Airports (Acoustic Version)
Eno, Brian - Music for the Civic Recovery Centre
Eno, Brian - I Dormienti
Eno, Brian - Kite Stories
Eno, Brian - Lightness--Music For The Marble Palace
Eno, Brian - The Compact Forest Proposal
Eno, Brian - January 072003
Eno, Brian - 18 keyboard studies

I've looked at the box sets on ebay, but it seems I already have everything on them so I haven't been that interested. (One of these days I'd like to go through all my CDs and count how many of them he's actually on--from The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway to Bowie, The Heads, Hassell, U2 etc. etc. etc.--It must be in the hundreds...)

If you'd like, I can rip and send you The Hope Blister cover... I also found it (and found out about it) on ebay and have since seen it lying around the local used stores; it's on 4AD and was produced by Ivo Watts-Russell--it also has a cover of the old Sylvian classic Let The Happiness In and I consider it basically the fourth This Mortal Coil album...

Oblique Strategies? Don't leave home without it.

...to bless agricultural man
who gives birth to more farmhands
don't ask me why...

I should have said "it seems I already have everything that matters--lol--I have an mp3 of The Lion Sleeps Tonight somewhere, and I sincerely hope that I never hear it again as long as I live... same with Seven Deadly Fins... I may be an EnoFreak, but there are limits. There's a good reason those songs were never 'officially' released, imho...

Anyway, I'll get that rip out to you asap.

all the peasants in the squares with the tables and the chairs set to salvage certain numbers from the wonder of the tundra and the muses in the gloom counting needles in their rooms on the carpet in the corner in a kind of secret slumber while the information rains slash the dirty windowpanes in the square
smokey broads and smoky windows in the square
come come charmer come on over for the day
disappearing cocoa forests flash and die
fortunes crumble all demolished in the bay
over forty pointed people in the perfect pointed steeple looked to see the lucky number
yes the wonder of the tundra had come up for fame and fortune singing his tune my tune your tune wooing daughters of the gifted on the carpets in the courtrooms while the tickets were expensive the show was quite relentless in the square
smokey broads and smoky windows in the square
come come charmer come on over for the day
disappearing cocoa forests flash and die
fortunes crumble all demolished in the bay
dalai llama lama puss puss stella maris missa nobis miss a dinner Miss Shapiro shampoos pot-pot pinkies pampered movement hampered like at Christmas ha! ha! isn't life a circus round in circles like the archers always stiff or always starchy yes it's happening and it's fattening and it's all that we can get into the show
smokey broads and smoky windows in the square
come come charmer come on over for the day
disappearing cocoa forests flash and die
fortunes crumble all demolished in the bay

"Fifteen was chosen because he was dumb,
Seven because he was blind:
I got the job because I was so mean,
While somehow appearing so kind."
------------------------------------------
801 live rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, I rang up Pantucci,
Spoke to Lu-chi,
I gave them all
They needed to know.
If affairs are proceeding
As we're expecting,
Soon enough
the weak spots will show.
I assume you understand that we have options on your time,
And will ditch you in the harbour if we must:
But if it all works out nicely,
You'll get the bonus you deserve
From doctors we trust.

The Fat Lady of Limbourg
Looked at the samples that we sent
And furrowed her brow.
You would never believe that
She'd tasted royalty and fame
If you saw her now.
But her sense of taste is such that she'll distinguish with her tongue
The subtleties a spectrograph would miss,
And announce her decision,
While demanding her reward:
The jellyfish kiss.

Now we checked out this duck quack
Who laid a big egg, oh so black
It shone just like gold.
And the kids from the city,
Finding it pretty, took it home,
And there it was sold.
It was changing hands for weeks till someone left it by their fire
And it melted to a puddle on the floor:
For it was only a candle, a Roman scandal oh oh oh,
Now it's a pool.
That's what we're paid for
That's what we're paid for
That's what we're paid for here.

Quote:
A posting in Robert Fripp's online diary provides some fascinating inside information on the poor and starving but caring, sharing music industry. Fripp and obscure but legendary band King Crimson have parted company with EMI/Virgin over digital download rights; not, apparently, because Fripp is agin downloading as such, but because he has just a couple of minor quibbles about distribution of the royalties.

Apple, you'll recall, gets to keep 4 cents out of the 99 cents price of a download. What does Fripp get? Read on: "the reason for the foundering of our re-licensing negotiation with EMI, last year, was on the subject of accounting for digital downloads. we were told - face to face - that digital downloads "were not important" and therefore should not concern ourselves with a royalty of 6 cents when EMI received c. 69 cents per download (the artist royalty subject to packing deduction, of course). more..
LOL@ Will EMI have to sue itself? ®
