i bought this set for the songs i dident have on cd(7 deadly fins, Belldog, ect.) but i just remembered that these cds are kick ass sounding with 20? bit encodeing. nice box set. Ramona, do you have the non vocal box set? is it worth the money? i already have most of the ambient albums. i been drooling over early pressings of oblique strat cards on ebay, gonna have to break down pretty soon.

I've looked at the box sets on ebay, but it seems I already have everything on them so I haven't been that interested. (One of these days I'd like to go through all my CDs and count how many of them he's actually on--from The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway to Bowie, The Heads, Hassell, U2 etc. etc. etc.--It must be in the hundreds...)

I also found it (and found out about it) on ebay and have since seen it lying around the local used stores; it's on 4AD and was produced by Ivo Watts-Russell--it also has a cover of the old Sylvian classic Let The Happiness In and I consider it basically the fourth This Mortal Coil album...

A posting in Robert Fripp's online diary provides some fascinating inside information on the poor and starving but caring, sharing music industry. Fripp and obscure but legendary band King Crimson have parted company with EMI/Virgin over digital download rights; not, apparently, because Fripp is agin downloading as such, but because he has just a couple of minor quibbles about distribution of the royalties.

Apple, you'll recall, gets to keep 4 cents out of the 99 cents price of a download. What does Fripp get? Read on: "the reason for the foundering of our re-licensing negotiation with EMI, last year, was on the subject of accounting for digital downloads. we were told - face to face - that digital downloads "were not important" and therefore should not concern ourselves with a royalty of 6 cents when EMI received c. 69 cents per download (the artist royalty subject to packing deduction, of course). more..
