Default Repot Card Time!!!...

It is summer, the president is on his summer vacation and there really isn't a lot new. The news cycle is full of the same stories, the real estate bubble, high gas prices, missing women, the other missing woman The New York Times' Judy Miller, the war dead and the war protesters. There is a reason the news media keep reporting these same stories over and over again, they are important. One thing to remember, after a slow news summer something usually happens to change the news stories and it is more often than not something bad. With President George W. Bush taking his summer vacation, I thought I would give his report card on how he is doing...

Iraq War F

The president took America to war on the false premise of ridding the world of Saddam's weapons of mass destruction, and then when it turned out there wasn't any weapons of mass destruction, he changed the mission to bringing freedom to Iraq. Freedom is on the march but the cost is high in American lives. No one in the Bush Administration has a plan other than creating an Iraqi constitution and training Iraqis to secure themselves. What no one will admit is that an Iraqi constitution is not worth the paper it is printed on and the Iraqis may not be able to secure themselves for twenty years. Based on the amount of American casualties so far, Bush's freedom march will have had an awful price paid for by both the regular American military and the National Guard units. It doesn't matter what is written in the Iraqi constitution, Sunnis, Shiites and Kurds will continue hating each other and an all out civil war is inevitable. Republican Sen. Chuck Hagel on ABC's ''This Week'' said, "We should start figuring out how we get out of there, but with this understanding, we cannot leave a vacuum that further destabilizes the Middle East. I think our involvement there has destabilized the Middle East. And the longer we stay there, I think the further destabilization will occur." When Republicans start saying talking about getting "out of there," it is definitely time to get out of there. Unfortunately Sen. Hagel is both right and wrong. He is right the longer the U. S. military stays there, the further destabilization will occur but he is wrong that the U.S. cannot leave a vacuum that further destabilizes the Middle East. The sooner the U.S. gets out the better, vacuum or not, there is no point on spending more American lives when the end result will be the same, chaos...

Economy D

Interest rates have been low thanks mainly to Alan Greenspan but they are on the rise and due to Bush's actions around the world oil prices are at record highs, this will shoot inflation sky high as the cost for everything goes through the roof. It is bad when people can barely afford to fill their car with a tank of gas; it is worse when they can't afford to heat their home. Prices will rise as the cost to manufacture and to transport rises mainly due to oil prices. Inflation rises, Greenspan and his successor will have no choice but to raise interests rates, this will shoot credit card rates up and cause a trickle down effect on home mortgages causing the real estate bubble to burst. The economy slides big time all due to oil...

Security F

The idea of fighting the terrorists over there before they can attack us here at home may be a nice sound bite but that also implies that the lives lost over there are not as important as those that would be lost here at home. There have been over 1,800 American soldiers' lives lost since the Iraq war started and that does not include civilian contract workers and other American or Iraqi civilians. There have been even more wounded. There is no reason to believe that had America not gone to war that there would have been a terrorist attack here just like there is no reason that there won't be a terrorist attack here while America fights over there. Osama bin Laden and Ayman al-Zawahri are responsible for the 9/11 attacks and Bush has still not captured them; as long as they are free America is not secure...

Honesty F

Bush said he would bring integrity to the White House. He misled the American public to believe that Saddam was involved in 9/11. He made false statements in his State Of The Union Address, even though the false claim on Niger was taken out of an earlier speech, it was reinserted in the State Of The Union Address. He took the country to war on a false premise. His White House purposely revealed the cover of a CIA operative for political reasons. When it comes to honesty, George W. Bush makes Richard M. Nixon look like Mother Teresa...

Compassion F

When the president of the United States won't meet with the mother of a fallen soldier camped outside his summer vacation ranch, even if it is for the second time, it shows a complete lack of compassion by the self-proclaimed war president...

Integrity F

Any president that would take a month off to relax while his troops are fighting his war isn't much of a commander-in-chief...

Like I already stated, it is summer, the president is on his summer vacation and there really isn't a lot new, same old failed president...
