Default looking for options in p2p

I've been trying to find a p2p software to use, but I read that morpheus ppl often discriminate against narrow band users, and I've found that winmx queues keep pushing me further and further down the list, which means those coming in after me are getting ahead of me in the queue.

So, can anyone suggest a p2p which doesn't discrimate against narrow band users, as going broad band isn't an option.

When the number on WinMX gets bigger it doesn't mean you're being pushed farther down; it just means more ppl are in the queue, you maintain your place in line.
Those waits are "enjoyed" by everyone.

i use FastTrack (grokster) and even i have cable, i have limited upload speed.

but there are many users uploading just with 2 or 3 kbyte/s and i am downloading with 1 kbyte/s and never anybody complained about this.

i think if you have modem, you should limit to 1 upload and 2 downloads and limit upload speed to 24 kbit/s (3 kbyte/s) if you want to share.

Now that I think about it eDonkey should be perfect for dial-up. Broadband users whine about how slow it is but it's perfect for narrowband. Just start your downloads and relax, the Donkey always finishes eventually.

I agree - I'm on 56K, and run my comp + eDonkey + Firewall roughly 24 hours a day. Tis damned slow, but it's a great feeling to wake up one morning to see that 600Meg file finally finished

Of an evening, if I can be bothered and there's nothing screaming (I once got a whopping 5.7 Kbps) on the Donkey I fire up winMX and try for sub 20 meg files that take my fancy. Hardly ever completes though.
