Default We're getting close- now it's WinMX beta 10

Soon, very soon, it'll be V3.

Thumbs up

Now if they come up with a way to tell the real movies from the fakes (I mean the large size ones), it will be perfect, right?

I found that DConnect has better movies.. Well, ones that I can encode into the crappy PAL system anyway: only had two fails so far, out of 14 downloads this week.

It was another of those "If you blinked, you missed it..." releases. I saw a posting last night @ Zeropaid announcing Beta 9...

Brows Winmx Beta 9-10

Yes, strange state of affairs, they leave us a month then again TWO issues come out following each other...?

Trouble is, what ever reason 9 was superseeded for, 10 is still no better, OK they have sorted the OPennap server activity listing so the operational ones rise to the top of the list, and they seem to have addressed the rediculous high queueing number 1410000
range number that appears on first attempt at a busy queueing.

The old favourite massive crash is STILL there when you try to stop a search list, or are careless sorting the columns.

The worse thing of all, for US but not the RIAA is that Uploads to other clients work OK, but you try to get a download working, especially to another Beta 10 client ...

No, looks like its more of the same, and back to 2.6 for a few more months, which is a shame because the version 3.00 OpenNap connect is similar to AudioGnome, very fast and easy to manage.

The generation of WSX files too has been cleaned up giving you an option to select the servers you wish to export to a WSX list and it looks like the fraudulant use of the WSX priority to spam others with PORN has too be trapped..

Back to the very large drawing board lads, nice try, but not there yet ...

Snark..

Perhaps I should be considered not as dedicated as I once may have been, but I'm not even bothering with the betas right now, as I haven't the time. As for those ridiculously high queue numbers, those happen with 2.6 anyway, so I don't see what the squawk is about them. I'm glad they seem to be progressing, but I'm not going to be in the 3.0 crowd until that version is well established as a final.

another improvement is that the retry/find sources seems to work much better. Have been very pleased with beta 10 and its ability to find new sources, far superior to 8 (or 9 the little i used it)

open/slavanap is where my real issues with winmx 3.0 lie, I have real trouble queueing on them. wpnp no prob, but not open/slavanap.

I realize that open/slavanap is a dead end, but we still currently need winmx to access them as well.

Re:incredibly high queue numbers, I never saw remotely queued(234543948) on 2.6 . Hopefully that is done with on 3.0 now.

btw, i know files of a small size skip the queue and are started. Ive seen wsx,wav and txt files do this, Anyone know what the size cutoff is??

Vladd44 - i was on WinMx only a few days ago and i got a huge queue number just like the one that you mentioned. i cant remember what it was i was downloading other than it was an mp3. i thought that it was kinda strange as i had never heard of it before now and quit the download - i may have patience but not that much. I am using 2.6 as i'm not using WinMx beta's and instead i'm waiting for the final version since i have not used WinMx enough to know whats normal! So the first i've heard about this was a few minutes ago as i've not been watching the progress.

anyway, just to let you know that maybe the huge queues are starting to affect 2.6 now?
