new MLdonkey now connects to fastrack
MLdonkey is a multi-platform multi-networks peer-to-peer client. Originally, it was the first open-source client to access the eDonkey network . The protocol was reverse-engeneered using an efficient protocol sniffer, Pandora .
Currently, with eDonkey , it supports several large networks, such as Overnet , Bittorrent , Gnutella (Bearshare, Limewire, etc), Gnutella2 (Shareaza), Fasttrack (Kazaa, Imesh, Grobster), Soulseek (beta), Direct-Connect (alpha), and Opennap (alpha). Networks can be enabled/disabled, searches are performed in parallel on all enabled networks, but each file is only downloaded from one network (wait for next release !), but from multiple clients concurrently. latest stable win32 installer i am trying this out...its a little ugly but i f you are going to try it i suggest getting mldonkey-ease(2.5)-installer.exe as well it really helped me get the servers list and get connected... still couldnt work out if i actually was on the fastrack network as well but got lots of search results.. first run mldonkey-ease then Graphical Interface.... get back to us anyone if u gives it a shot... |

Re: new MLdonkey now connects to fastrack
first i installed this with all checkboxes ticked
latest stable win32 installer i had no luck with this by itself then i installed this with all checkboxes ticked.... mldonkey-ease(2.5)-installer.exe first I had to run mldonkey-ease then Graphical Interface (need MLdonkey)....u will see the shortcut from the first installation... it is not a nice GUI..but if u are used to linux its similar to a few linux ones..psyslsk..etc some of the networks are not connecting but i think i have to find where to put the server addy's for openap,bittorrent..etc i have only got as far as tryng the search..the downloads worked.. but i didt try a full one..(got some stuff running already) http://mldonkey.berlios.de/modules.p...e065d3ae7c8195 ^a post on some of the problems ppl are having with it.. |

im a doctor not a programmer... yeah folks it dont seem to go into win98as easy as it it did for me in XP... would be interested in hearing from any one that did this sucsessfully in win98.. opening the gui and inputing the directory for your shares in uploads tab might help things as well... |

thanks multi. looks promising but reserved for experts at the moment (if kyo16 is editing commands in notepad anyway). still there's a lot of interest. in time it (or something like it) will get simpler.
