since the client cannot connect to the central server it tries the supernode ip's stored in the Connectioninfo registry entry.
if there is a supernode which accepts the connect (probably a running 1.3.3 morph) it can connect to this p2p island (870 user).

on the other hand - if one or 2 are running a supernode without connection to central server. and others know the ip and enter it to the connection info so their client is automatically connected to this node- it should be possible to manually setup a private isolated p2p net with 100% searchability.

hey - i am behind a firewall - cannot be supernode

but we could take any working 'island' ip - people are glad there, when they get more users :P

That would work indy, if people were using a version prior to the 1.3.3 security patch that fast track put out, or didn't apply the patch, then when they connected they found they were stuck on little nodes split off from the main group.

The only thing is you would need quite a bit of users, with lots of content in order to sustain the littel p2p network.

I think what the people at gift are working on now, open FT will be a good thing when finished. It might just be the best morph/kazaa/grok replacement.
