ERIC CLAPTON
BELL BOTTOM BLUES Bell bottom blues, you made me cry. I don't want to lose this feeling. And if I could choose a place to die It would be in your arms. Do you want to see me crawl across the floor to you? Do you want to hear me beg you to take me back? I'd gladly do it because I don't want to fade away. Give me one more day, please. I don't want to fade away. In your heart I want to stay. It's all wrong, but it's all right. The way that you treat me baby. Once I was strong but I lost the fight. You won't find a better loser. Chorus Chorus Bell bottom blues, don't say goodbye. I'm sure we're gonna meet again, And if we do, don't you be surprised If you find me with another lover. Chorus I don't want to fade away. Give me one more day please. I don't want to fade away. In your heart I long to stay. ME THIS LIKE I |

PRIVATE SUIT
Bettie Serveert (Serveert/Carol Van Dyk) Our little works of wonder, in a nostalgic mood, let no man pull this under, this is a private suit. Descending, softly, down the hillside, they say “Dim the lights” it's better not to see things, relying on the free things, just like a favorite tune. And of course I had my feet in the absurd, ‘cause I tried to fit my life into a word, now it still turned out the same. We're half seas over, in a nostalgic mood. I got my arms wrapped around your shoulder, just like a private suit. And we’re feeding on molasses, drinking all the glasses, they say “Kill the lights!” it's better not to see things, relying on the free things, just like a favorite tune. But on top of everything, it sounds absurd, when I tried to pin my life into a word, now it still turned out the same. Hey, but don't worry about me, I’ll be sitting by the seashore, laughing at the lifeforms, and whistling down the breeze. So don't worry about me, 'cause you can't please everyone. And I'm thinking to myself, and I'm not the only one. We all gotta learn, to give some in return. Don't worry about me. Don't worry about me, 'cause you can't please everyone. And I'm thinking to myself, and I'm not the only one. We all gotta learn, to give some in return, like little works of wonder. - js |

Tracks in the Dust
Four of us were having dinner
And I threw down the paper with a curse And my wife said "Complaining doesn't get it You got to do something or you can bet it will get worse" And my friend said "You've been watching T.V. too much And all that hippie hopefullness is just a crutch But if thinking that way helps you To make it through the night Then who am I to say what's wrong and right?" But I think we're passing through here kind of fast Did you think these tracks in the dust would last? I think we're passing through here kind of fast Did you think these tracks in the dust would last? "So you think we should just sit here And have another glass of wine While the world goes to hell Which you know damn well it's going to do just down the line?" And his lady said "I dunno, how can you be so sure I mean, some things seem to get better The hero still saves the damsel in distress The villan doesn't get her" And I said "Where have you been living? I mean they're selling death in the streets, cheap And the lying politicians are rolling in the profits they reap" He said "He's right honey, but I think it's always been that way" And he smiled kind of patiently and I knew he was going to say I think we're passing through here kind of fast Did you think these tracks in the dust would last? I think we're passing through here kind of fast Did you think these tracks in the dust would last? I think we're passing through here kind of fast |

Must be because I had the flu for Christmas
And I'm not feeling up to par It increases my paranoia Like looking into a mirror and seeing a police car But I'm not giving in an inch to fear Cos I promised myself this year I feel like I owe it to someone When I finally get myself together I'm gonna get down in some of that sweet summer weather I'm going to find a space inside to laugh Separate the wheat from the chaff Cos I feel like I owe it, yeah Said I feel like I owe it, yeah You know I feel---- like I owe it yeah to someone |

Freak Out!
(The Mothers Of Invention, June 1966) Trouble every day Well I'm about to get sick From watchin' my TV Been checkin' out the news Until my eyeballs fail to see I mean to say that every day Is just another rotten mess And when it's gonna change, my friend Is anybody's guess So I'm watchin' and I'm waitin' Hopin' for the best Even think I'll go to prayin' Every time I hear 'em sayin' That there's no way to delay That trouble comin' every day No way to delay That trouble comin' every day Wednesday I watched the riot . . . Seen the cops out on the street Watched 'em throwin' rocks and stuff And chokin' in the heat Listened to reports About the whisky passin' 'round Seen the smoke and fire And the market burnin' down Watched while everybody On his street would take a turn To stomp and smash and bash and crash And slash and bust and burn And I'm watchin' and I'm waitin' Hopin' for the best Even think I'll go to prayin' Every time I hear 'em sayin' That there's no way to delay That trouble comin' every day No way to delay That trouble comin' every day Well, you can cool it, You can heat it . . . 'Cause, baby, I don't need it . . . Take your TV tube and eat it 'N all that phony stuff on sports 'N all the unconfirmed reports You know I watched that rotten box Until my head begin to hurt From checkin' out the way The newsman say they get the dirt Before the guys on channel so-and-so And further they assert That any show they'll interrupt To bring you news if it comes up They say that if the place blows up They will be the first to tell, Because the boys they got downtown Are workin' hard and doin' swell, And if anybody gets the news Before it hits the street, They say that no one blabs it faster Their coverage can't be beat And if another woman driver Gets machine-gunned from her seat They'll send some joker with a brownie And you'll see it all complete So I'm watchin' and I'm waitin' Hopin' for the best Even think I'll go to prayin' Every time I hear 'em sayin' That there's no way to delay That trouble comin' every day No way to delay That trouble comin' every day Hey, you know something people? I'm not black But there's a whole lots a times I wish I could say I'm not white Well, I seen the fires burnin' And the local people turnin' On the merchants and the shops Who used to sell their brooms and mops And every other household item Watched the mob just turn and bite 'em And they say it served 'em right Because a few of them are white, And it's the same across the nation Black and white discrimination Yellin' "You can't understand me!" 'N all that other jazz they hand me In the papers and TV and All that mass stupidity That seems to grow more every day Each time you hear some nitwit say He wants to go and do you in Because the color of your skin Just don't appeal to him (No matter if it's black or white) Because he's out for blood tonight You know we got to sit around at home And watch this thing begin But I bet there won't be many live To see it really end 'Cause the fire in the street Ain't like the fire in the heart And in the eyes of all these people Don't you know that this could start On any street in any town In any state if any clown Decides that now's the time to fight For some ideal he thinks is right And if a million more agree There ain't no Great Society As it applies to you and me Our country isn't free And the law refuses to see If all that you can ever be Is just a lousy janitor Unless your uncle owns a store You know that five in every four Just won't amount to nothin' more Gonna watch the rats go across the floor And make up songs about being poor Blow your harmonica, son! |

J Geils Band - You're The Only One - The J. Geils Band
It's very hard to define it Just why I feel this way There must be all kinds of reasons So many things I could say And I know I'm not mistaken This is love and that's for sure You, you're the only one You're the only one You, you're the only one There are times I remember It wasn't so long ago I was lonely, sad and confused I didn't know where to go But baby I want to tell you Just how good you make me feel I'd be a fool to deny it I want everyone to know Baby, baby

Mark:
Makes you feel much older Sublime The blind parade It wrecks me How They Justify their acts Of war, they assemble, they pray Take good care of what the priests say After death it's so much fun Little sheep don't let your feet stray Happiness is easy Children: Joy be written on the earth And the sky above Jesus star that shines so bright Gather us in love Mark: Guilt upon their shoulders How well the cause evades Infecting your religions, claiming pacts It's easy to shoulder the blame Happiness is easy Children: Little ships of Galilee Sailing on the sea Jesus tried to love us all Be a friend to me Mark: Try to teach my children To recognize excuse before it acts From love and conviction To pray Take good care of what the priests say After death it's so much fun Little sheep don't let your feet stray Happiness is easy Children: Little ships of Galilee Sailing on the sea Jesus tried to love us all Be a friend to me Joy be written on the earth And the sky above Jesus star that shines so bright Gather us in love |

Good tune Ramona
Reminds me of... Six o' clock
In the morning, I feel pretty good So I dropped into the luxury of the Lords Fighting dragons and crossing swords With the people against the hordes Who came to conquer Seven o'clock In the morning, here it comes I taste the warning and I am so amazed I'm here today, seeing things so clear this way In the car and on my way To Stonehenge I'm flying in Winchester cathedral Sunlight pouring through the break of day Stumbled through the door and into the chamber There's a lady setting flowers on a table covered lace And a cleaner in the distance finds a cobweb on a face And a feeling deep inside of me tells me This can't be the plac I'm flying in Winchester cathedral All religion has to have its day Expressions on the face of the Saviour Made me say I can't stay Open up the gates of the church and let me out of here! Too many people have lied in the name of Christ For anyone to heed the call So many people have died in the name of Christ That I can't believe it all And now I'm standing on the grave of a soldier that died in 1799 And the day he died it was a birthday And I noticed it was mine And my head didn't know just who I was And I went spinning back in time And I am high upon the altar High upon the altar, high I'm flying in Winchester cathedral It's hard enough to drink the wine The air inside just hangs in delusion But given time I'll be fine Open up the gates of the church and let me out of here! Too many people have lied in the name of Christ For anyone to heed the call So many people have died in the name of Christ That I can't believe it all And now I'm standing on the grave of a soldier that died in 1799 And the day he died it was a birthday And I noticed it was mine And my head didn't know just who I was And I went spinning back in time And I am high upon the ffs I edited this pos about 5 times I can`nt get nothing straight Last edited by ONEMANBANNED : 26-12-03 at 01:08 PM. |

Just CSN (77, no Y) Mr. Knife, sir. And I've got it if you need a last resort. Coincidentally, old CSN (and Y) cds have been my latest prey on ebay since I realized with horror recently that you (at least I) can't find new retail versions of even these great classic albums anywhere, (such as CSN 69, Deja Vu or CSN 77).
I also have a weird story about that song. Back in the Days Of Vinyl, my friend Natalie and I were obsessed with Cathedral and its kind of spooky (if vague) reincarnational allusions, and we were sitting around listening to it one evening with the lights low when the needle on my turntable broke, right after finishing playing the song. Evidently the the cartridge got a crossed wire or something and as it skidded to the center of the album thudding and crackling, it begin to somehow freakishly pick up a radio signal. ...At least that's how we explained it to ourselves after the goosebumps faded... because a tinny version of Winchester Cathedral (the old weird little song sung through a megaphone... "Winchester Cathedral, you're bringin' me down") became recognizable through the rattle and hum. When I finally picked up the needle it stopped and we tried to reproduce the effect but couldn't. The synchronicity seemed so improbable that I even got goosebumps retelling the story, and I still get a slightly eerie feeling every time I hear Winchester Cathedral. |

All is quiet on New Year's Day
A world in white gets underway I want to be with you Be with you night and day Nothing changes on New Year's Day On New Year's Day I will be with you again I will be with you again Under a blood red sky A crowd has gathered in black and white Arms entwined, the chosen few The newspapers says, says Say it's true, it's true And we can break through Though torn in two We can be one I I will begin again I I will begin again Maybe the time is right Maybe tonight I will be with you again I will be with you again And so we're told this is the golden age And gold is the reason for the wars we wage Though I want to be with you Be with you night and day Nothing changes On New Year's Day On New Year's Day |

Indigo
Speeding slow Closer than A stone's throw Tremor tones In afterglow Clear as the coast's Ancient echoes Caressed solace Of oceans sinking Liquified sky Of fishes drinking Sea swallowed whole Never diminished Driving drifts To flash flood finish This is the Zodiac speaking This is the Zodiac speaking Hollow flow Obsidian Invisible meridian Rippling, crippled and tame Pushed through the veins Slipping further away Locked inside transparent skin Delicately flickering Spoke on the wheel Just a spook in the wind This is the Zodiac speaking |

This month, monopolizing my mp3 player, 9 songs by Ms. Mann, from the Magnolia movie. She's a strange singer and her songs are strikingly simple but seriously seductive... and addictive. And yes, I'd marry her. you look like a perfect fit a girl in need of a tourniquet but can you save me? come on and save me if you could save me from the ranks of the freeks who suspect they could never love anyone cozz I can tell you know what it’s like the long farewell of a hunger strike but can you save me? come on and save me if you could save me from the ranks of the freeks who suspect they could never love anyone you struck me dumb like radium like peter pan or superman you will come to save me c’mon and save me if you could save me from the ranks of the freeks who suspect they could never love anyone ’cept the freeks who suspect they could never love anyone but the freeks who suspect they could never love anyone |

J'ai tendu des cordes de clocher à clocher
Des guirlandes de fenêtre à fenêtre Des chaînes d'or d'étoile à étoile Et je danse Let me Penetrate all of your memories Let me Be that woman Who can bind you hand and foot I'll strangle you I'll strangle you I'll strangle you I'll strangle you Une matinée couverte en juillet Un goût de cendres vole dans l'air Une odeur de bois suant dans l'âtre Les fleurs rouies Le saccage des promenades La bruine des chanaux par les champs I have strung ropes from steeple to steeple Garlands from window to window And golden chains from star to star When I dance J'ai tendu des cordes de clocher à clocher Des guirlandes de fenêtre à fenêtre Des chaînes d'or d'étoile à étoile Et je danse Let me Penetrate all of your memories Let me Be that woman Who can bind you hand and foot I'll strangle you I'll strangle you Avivant un agréable goût d'encre de chine Une poudre noire pleut doucement sur ma veillée Je baisse les feux du lustre Je me jette sur le lit Et tourné du côté de l'ombre Je vois, mes filles! Mes reines! I have strung ropes from steeple to steeple Garlands from window to window And golden chains from star to star And I dance Hector Zazou - Sahara Blue (featuring Bill Laswell & Guy Sigsworth, vocals by Gerard Depardieu & Anneli Drecker - Lyrics by Arthur Rimbaud) |

Only Love Can Break Your Heart - Neil Young
When you were young and on your own
How did it feel to be alone? I was always thinking of games that I was playing. Trying to make the best of my time. But only love can break your heart Try to be sure right from the start Yes only love can break your heart What if your world should fall apart? I have a friend I’ve never seen He hides his head inside a dream Someone should call him and see if he can come out. Try to lose the down that he’s found. But only love can break your heart Try to be sure right from the start Yes only love can break your heart What if your world should fall apart? I have a friend I’ve never seen He hides his head inside a dream Yes, only love can break your heart Yes, only love can break your heart
