the main problem with ICQ at the moment, is that it has a huge memory leak in it and is just so stupidly overpopulated with features it's unbelievable.

The rundown on ICQ versions goes somewhat as follows...

ICQ98. Nice, fast and simple version of ICQ that does what it is supposed to and isn't full of junk, but it's been blocked now by ICQ.

ICQ99a. Not a bad version, but it has some major security holes in it.

ICQ99b. Starting to get bloated and slow and still has a couple of security issues.

ICQ2000a. Overpopulated with features, slow, frustrating to use.

ICQ2000b. Massively overpopulated with features, slow as hell, full of adverts (crackable thankfully), but does at least include SMS support which is about the first decent feature since ICQ98.

Basically, ICQ to be frank, sucks. I use MSN mostly at the moment and when I want ICQ, I either use Miranda (Nice, fast, open source version of ICQ. Unnoficial), or Trillian (Nice PC client that is fast and can connect simultaneously to ICQ, MSN, AIM, Yahoo! and IRC).

Dave!!
