Goofy edonkey/mule clients???

I'm currently using emule plus and it works ok but is there any donkey/mule clients that don't force such a drastic ratio for bandwidth.
I'm having a hard time getting anything that's respectable for speeds. Mainly because I can only upload at about 17k though my cable company claims 25k
The only way I can use it without killing my connection is to set my upload at about 13k which limits me to 75k down.

Any input and suggestions are appreciated

I tried mldonkey (but didn't work because my crippled connection) but it was very nice. Has its own GUI but can accessed via a browser as well.

You shouldn't be seeing any upload/download ratio being enforced, if you have set your upload limit to be >= 10KB/s. All ed2k clients enforce a ratio of 1:3 (or 1:4) for upload limits below 10KB/s, but from there on it is unlimited download.

There could of course be other factors that are stopping you from downloading at your maximum bandwidth, most notably the lack of good sources that can drench your download.

I've not heard alot of good things about the mlDonkey. And it doesn't seem to be real welcomed to the network. But thanks for the suggestion I'll keep it in mind

OneMX has worked well for me but basically it's just an old version (24). Also giving high priority to all your shared files is supposed to speed things up although nothing seems to work for me.

Thanks Napho I think I have that one downloaded just never installed it yet. I read one of your earlier posts

I don't know if it's just me or if this whole edonkey network is a touch over rated? Yes there is great content But the queues are horrible. I thought WinMX was bad but edonkey tops the cake
And the uploaders come faster than flies do to a manure pile By the time I connect to the servers I want, my queue is already over loaded!
But I never have a problem finding sources at-least Just have a problem finding sources that actually start
