Default How do you listen to music?

I'm still a huge music fan and I listen to it all day long. I used to listen to music over the home system from the music stations that Charter offers, but I got stuck hearing songs I didn't much like. Then I found Slacker (thanks to napho of course) and played that on the PC all the time. Since I already had 2 sets of speakers hooked up to the PC, I didn't know how to get Slacker on the PC hooked up over the built in home system. Then all the sudden we figured it out (turns out it was simple). I just LOVE Slacker. My fav station is Indie Sunset.

Anyone still a big music fan? And if so, how do you listen to your music?

music? all day every day dawn. hard drive at home with a bazilion tracks (thank you cds, napster, grokster, waste, utorrent), laptop/thumbdrive away from home, sometimes the radio in the car, and sometimes radio paradise via phone. that app has a nice feature: you can quickly load up to 12 hours at home for free using wi-fi and play it back whenever, eliminating dead spots and data charges.

still a big part of my life...

i stopped listening to radio years ago and started plugging flash drives into my last two cars...now i'm never without 30 or 40 gigs of music. at home, it's the same set-up i've had since the Napster days: computers plugged into stereo systems, so everything is played off of hard drives. and i'm also a fan of Radio Paradise and it's still a joy to find a new band - two biggest sources of new music are Radio Paradise and surf videos.

and the best music tip i've had in the last couple of years was from Jadesun, who turned me onto Radio Vickers. if you're not on his email list, you're missing out!

and btw, was hunting for a couple of cd's forever, prowling bt and newsgroups sites with no luck...

then recently downloaded and installed Soulseek for the hell of it...and presto! found what i had what i had been searching for immediately. it warms my black heart to know that Soulseek is alive and well...prolly the closest thing to the original Napster out there.

Since moving to central Washington and experiencing the dearth of creativity that is top 40 FM radio, I've been streaming music from Pandora during the 15 minutes it takes me to drive to work and the 15 minutes it takes to drive back home. Pandora, I recently read, has never turned a profit in its 17 years in business. Somehow it still feels like getting free music, even though I don't have much control over it. Why, just three days ago I installed a stereo in my truck that has the Pandora app built in; it connects to my phone for access. But knowing my luck, the company will go tits up before the end of the year and I'll have to revert back to piracy (or Spotify ).

Mostly I have Pandora or Spotify or I heart radio playing in the car although now Pandora is about to disappear in AU , much the same at home running through BT speaker and the occasional CD , but always there must be music !
