Alternative for Kazaa? - P2P-Zone

I don't want to mess around with kazaa with all the legal issues and stuff, so i was just wondering what you guys use to download music..I was thinking mabye emule but not sure what servers are good for music

download all you want jade, they just can't spend the resources going after you. it's the uploads that might bring you to the riaa's attention. unfortunately, to be guaranteed safe these days you either have to live outside of england, sweden, australia, spain or the us or you have to be a leech.

on the other hand you have a greater chance of losing a limb in a sausage machine accident than you do receiving an riaa subpoena.

Thanks JS...I had always pondered, the advantages of being Canadian, this might be one!!

As for the Kazaa, I don't think the 2.4.1 blocked the IP...I had just dl'd and installed the newer 2.4.2 and all is well

Hmmm, with this new Kazaa feature....how does the IP Blocker know a 'bad' IP from a good one, until after the fact?

depends on the server, lots of irc servers have FSERV rooms and #mp3 rooms. Just connect to a server and type /list to get a listing of all the channels. If all else fails, join the main room and ask if they have a music, video, fserv type channel.

Programs/websites like IRCSPY are shit! They spider networks and post the info for anyone to see/use, and not even with a 'by your leave' from the network/channel owner.

I ban them all and anyone using them is NOT helping IRC in any way..

I request we be removed from services such as these. If I wanted my network spidered for google (etc) I'd bloody well do it myself. Sites like these are bad for IRC and should be told to GFT..

In fact, I've set our channel to +R. If you can't be bothered to register, we can't be bothered to share with you. Keeps down on the spiders, adverts and spammings alike.

IRC is good for a chat and excellent for a file..

In fact mine is good because it means my brain is getting bigger too. But not that Travolta guy, his head is mostly fat. The doctors said I am much smarter than John Travolta and I believe them.
