so wouldn't it be a good idea to take those very same poor people, especially the ones collecting welfare benefits, and have them be part of the rebuilding process?

hell, it doesn't take much skill to pick up a paint brush does it?

i know it isn't as simple as that but many of those folks could actually learn a skilled trade, collect their benefit or even a paycheck and in turn have some pride in what they've accomplished.

this should be a wonderful opportunity for change. And, if it works in NO, then why couldn't it work in other cities and states?

just my 2 cents.
