This is amusing....Vivendi pulled it's music division off the auction block today:

...Vivendi concluded Tuesday that it didn't make sense to sell Universal Music — home to hitmakers including Shania Twain, Bon Jovi, Ludacris, Eminem and Diana Krall — during an industrywide slump.

...and this is their rationale:

"They are under the assumption that piracy will be solved soon, and if they sell now, it will be too low," says Sanford C. Bernstein's Michael Nathanson.
