I can't seem to connect to the mesh... I'm using the "Special Edition" of WASTE that's not found on SourceForge... could that be the problem?

Still nothing... I'm trying the 2 most recent IP addresses I saw you post in here... and I am using the correct port. (And I am behind a router but I already forwarded the port.) *shrug*

So can I connect to two separate meshes on the same client. I'm already on one. I'd like to try to connect to your mesh also. I've heard you can run two clients at the same time if you change the directory and port. I'm just wondering.

there doesn't seem to be any limit to the number of meshes you can run off a single client (i've done a dozen) as long as the ports are different.
you can also have multiple clients running multiple meshes (like zer0share and zerİshare), so that's doable, making the social and sharing potentials fairly limitless. it's like having dozens of houses in dozens of countries with dozens of interesting people in each one and you're in all of them at the same time. when the party's on you have lots of generous friends. waste is a collection of sparsely filled meshes however so when attention drifts they depopulate rapidly, and once they wither they die - although zer0share is unusual in this regard. it can sustain itself with a single user indefinitely (there are 3 on atm) and then grow quickly and do this over and over again. i might murder zer0share someday but it will never expire from natural causes. it's too stubborn. - js. |
