More of that stupid "corporate welfare" bullshit. I've never seen any line in any government budget handing out money to a corporation. But a lie repeated often enough... Quote:

And I thought I was cynical. Damn albed. hehe.
There are alot of these types of quizes out there. This one was very basic. Not enough questions to form a really good idea of where ones political compass might point. http://www.politicalcompass.org/questionnaire There is another one you could try. I wouldn't put myself as far left as this chart point out, but oh well. For the sake of some fun.

I’ve been a little down because today my doctor diagnosed me with John Travolta Syndrome. It’s a condition where your face or head grows laterally, getting wider year by year. It’s not so much of a problem and it’s nothing to be ashamed of, it’s just a condition. In fact mine is good because it means my brain is getting bigger too. But not that Travolta guy, his head is mostly fat. The doctors said I am much smarter than John Travolta and I believe them. |

I would not be surprised if we are more a like then not, seems I am really close to the center. I could run for either party I guess.

Never seen a TIF district where all the money goes to support tax free zone for a corporate headquarters? Must be nice, can I move to where you are?

handing out money is not the only form of welfare for corporations or people. but if you're looking for actual straightforward giveaways, you can look at $15 billion in direct airline industry subsidies in the last five years, for one. but since corporate welfare takes a lot of forms, it's also helpful to look at things like the mining law of 1872, which lets the mining industry continue to extract publicly owned resources and pay a fraction of market-rate royalties, Cooperative Research and Development Agreements, or CRADAs, in which government scientists help private companies develop technologies, agricultural subsidies, import tariffs which tilt a free market playing field towards US Corporations etc etc. etc.

"Not taking" money from corporations isn't "giving" it to them potsie. Reconnect with reality someday and you'll understand simple concepts like this.

but if we use your standard, free health care or free food to the poor would not be welfare either. sounds like you've got kind of a closet-liberal thing going |

these assholes should be taxed at maximum rates with no concessions ever ffs even then it wouldn't stop them killing every small buisiness on the planet sometime in the next 20 years if they could, why they should get help from our governments to do this is beyond me. http://www.theatlantic.com/doc/198202/diamond read and be amazed at how our governments let corporations psychologically manipulate the public and happily let it go on for many years |
