oh, so we're going deep into the archives for some Dead?
Brown-Eyed Women - Grateful Dead Gone are the days when the ox fall down Take up the yoke and plough the fields around Gone are the days when the ladies said "please Gentle Jack Jones won't you come to me" Chorus Brown-eyed women and red grenadine The bottle was dusty but the liquor was clean Sound of the thunder with the rain pouring down And it looks like the old man's getting on Nineteen twenty when he stepped to the bar Drank to the dregs of the whiskey jar Nineteen thirty when the wall caved in He made his way selling red-eyed gin [chorus] Delilah Jones was the mother of twins Two times over and the rest were sins Raised eight boys, only I turned bad Didn't get the lickings that the other ones had [chorus] Tumble-down shack in Big Foot County Snowed so hard that the roof caved in Delilah Jones went to meet her God And the old man never was the same again Daddy made whiskey and he made it well Cost two dollars and it burned like hell (note e) I cut hickory just to fire the still Drink down a bottle and you're ready to kill |

Knife: Time share? I'll trade ya. Snow is nice to look at but Drak pretty much summed up my general feeling of actually living in it. (Looking forward to a recording by Tenacious D). Does make for some damned good songs though. Does anyone else make playlists of these things?
I took my love I took it down climbed a mountain and I turned around and I saw my reflection in the snow covered hills till the landslide brought me down oh mirror in the sky what is love can the child within my heart rise above can I sail through the changing ocean tides can I handle the seasons of my life well I've been afraid of changing 'cause I've built my life around you but time makes you bolder children get older and I'm getting older too take my love take it down climb a mountain and turn around and if you see my reflection in the snow covered hills well the landslide will bring it down if you see my reflection in the snow covered hills well maybe the landslide will bring it down FM - Eponymous - Landslide |

great tune!! i can dig it How about the Jethro Tull Christmas Album Jack Frost And The Hooded Crow Through long December nights we talk in words of rain or snow while you, through chattering teeth, reply and curse as you go. Why not spare a thought this day for those who have no flame to warm their bones at Christmas time? Say Jack Frost and the Hooded Crow. ------------- Weathercock Do you simply reflect changes in the patterns of the sky? Or is it true to say the weather heeds the twinkle in your eye? Do you fight the rush of winter; and hold snowflakes at bay? Do you lift the dawn sun from the fields and help him on his way? -------------- First Snow On Brooklyn And the first snow on Brooklyn paints a Christmas card upon the pavement. The cab leaves a disappearing trace and then it’s gone. And the snow covers my footprints, deep regrets and heavy heartbeats. When you wake you’ll never see the spot that I was standing on. -------------- A Winter Snowscape instumental |

Obligatory of course, for Nanook
dreamed I was an eskimo
frozen wind began to blow under my boots and around my toes the frost that bit the ground below it was a hundred degrees below zero and my mama cried and my mama cried Nanook! a-no-no Nanook! a-no-no don't be a naughty eskimo save your money don't go to the show well I turned around and I said oh oh oh well I turned around and I said oh oh oh well I turned around and I said ho ho and the northern lights commenced to glow and she said with a tear in her eye watch out where the huskies go and don't you eat that yellow snow FZ - Apostrophe |

I was one as you were one
And we were two so much in love forever I loved the white socks that you wore But you don't wear white socks no more, now you're a woman I joked about your turned-up nose And criticized your school girl clothes But would I then have paced these roads to love you For seasons come and seasons go Bring forth the rain the sun and snow Make Valerie a woman And Valerie is lonely No more to roam on the snow hills of Hienton Undecided with the guardians of the older generation A doormat was a sign of welcome In the winter months to come And in the summer laughing Through the castle ruins we'd run For the quadrangle sang to the sun And the grace of our feeling And the candle burned low as we talked of the future Underneath the ceiling There were tears in the sky And the clouds in your eyes were just cover For your thighs were the cushions Of my love and yours for each other The songs still are sung It was fun to be young But please dont be sad where `ere you are I am who I am You are who you are Now Valerie's a woman Now Valerie's a woman Now Valerie's a woman First Episode At Hienton - Bernie Taupin, from the album Elton John |

REO Speedwagon - Riding the Storm Out
Riding the storm out
Waiting for the thaw out On a full moon night in the Rocky Mountain winter My wine bottle's low Watching for the snow I've been thinking about what I've been missing in the city And I'm not missing a thing Watching the full moon crossing the range Riding the storm out |
