U.N. Says Iraq Seals Data on the Civilian Toll UNITED NATIONS, Oct. 20 — The United Nations office in Baghdad says that Nuri Kamal al-Maliki, the Iraqi prime minister, has ordered the country’s medical authorities to stop providing the organization with monthly figures on the number of civilians killed and wounded in the conflict there, according to a confidential cable. The most unbelievable part of the " official " story?
That there were only 100 troops present at the base at the time of the attack. 400 million dollars to build the camp. More than 1 billion dollars worth of ammo and equipment stored there. Bunks for more than 3000 troops there. Yet only 100 troops were there to defend it? I don't buy that. |

If you keep digging around and find the "source" of that piece, it's the Truthseeker. If you keep digigng on what he claims is the source the closest thing you'll find is this:

if these are actual aftermath pictures of base falcon the destruction seems mostly contained to one section. it's big section yes, but i can see how there might not be any fatalities. in any event, it doesn't square with the worst reports.

Honestly multi, you're like a retarded kid who picks up a piece of dog shit and thinks he's found a candy bar - over and over again.
Are you really so stupid you can't tell a ridiculous article like that is fabricated? |

here's a site of unknown credibility that has published a casualty list, ostensibly from the Falcon Base incident. it shouldn't be too hard for somebody with good sources to use this list to confirm the official version (or refute it, as the case may be).

Well what ever happened there was a big explosion at that munitions dump
I was 50-50 about this story when I posted it and I still hope it is bullshit the big worry is about the DU munitions that went up in this blast and their effects on thousands of troops and civilians in that area (not to mention an large amount of US soldiers very sick or dead from its effects over the last few years) They may of used lots of technology guarding Forward Base Falcon and fewer troops ,just in case it ever did get hit. That would make some sense and might account for the low numbers of casualties . It might mean pulling out of that area though. |
