never actually knew the name of the group who sang it.

Nobody on the road
Nobody on the beach
I feel it in the air
The summer’s out of reach
Empty lake, empty streets
The sun goes down alone
I’m drivin’ by your house
Though I know you’re not at home

But I can see you-
Your brown skin shinin’ in the sun
You got your hair combed back and your sunglasses on, baby
And I can tell you my love for you will still be strong
After the boys of summer have gone

I never will forget those nights
I wonder if it was a dream
Remember how you made me crazy?
Remember how I made you scream
Now I don’t understand what happened to our love
But babe, I’m gonna get you back
I’m gonna show you what I’m made of

I can see you-
Your brown skin shinin’ in the sun
I see you walkin’ real slow and you’re smilin’ at everyone
I can tell you my love for you will still be strong
After the boys of summer have gone

Out on the road today, I saw a black flag sticker on a cadillac
A little voice inside my head said, don’t look back. you can never look back.
I thought I knew what love was
What did I know?
Those days are gone forever
I should just let them go but-

I can see you-
Your brown skin shinin’ in the sun
You got that top pulled down and that radio on, baby
And I can tell you my love for you will still be strong
After the boys of summer have gone

I can see you-
Your brown skin shinin’ in the sun
You got that hair slicked back and those wayfarers on, baby
I can tell you my love for you will still be strong
After the boys of summer have gone

always been a favorite of mine too. don henley of the eagles wrote the angry cry on aging for his 80's solo release.

all these tunes remind me of the beach boys' caroline no. not about summer's end explicitly but might as well be considering the band, the mournful theme of fleeting youth, and the surf bass buried in the mix.

Where did your long hair go?
Where is the girl I used to know?
How could you lose that happy glow?

Oh, Caroline, no...

Who took that look away?
I remember how you used to say
You'd never change, but that's not true.

Oh, Caroline, you break my heart.
I wanna go and cry.
It's so sad to watch a sweet thing die.

Oh, Caroline, why?

Could I ever find in you again,
Things that made me love you so much then?
Could we ever bring 'em back, once they have gone?

Oh, Caroline, no.

yup, the video for Boys Of Summer always just grabs me right in the heart and just squeezes - like looking at raw footage from my own life.

indian summer nice, though ... : )

I love you, the best
Better than all the rest
I love you, the best
Better than all the rest
That I meet in the summer
Indian summer
That I meet in the summer
Indian summer
I love you, the best
Better than all the rest

Doors Lyrics - Indian Summer
