PeoplePC references please
I'd like to get a better isp for my 56k dial-up And PeoplePC looks promising.
Can anyone give me first, second or thirdhand info on how they are for filesharing? |

Not sure how they are for filesharing but I remembered seeing poeplepc in a spyware scan...it's not malicious or anything, but their dialer software includes a browser hijacker (toolbar) and apparently you must install it to connect the first time. This link is an ad for another service but it's interesting info all the same: http://www.spyware-removal.com/uninstall-peoplepc.html .
It's removable after the first connection anyway. They kinda remind me of AOL. That could be a good thing, more resources for you if 95% of their customer base can't work out how to use a computer |

On their site they say their dialer software installs complete ie6 so I was planning on skipping it and entering their phone numbers and password manually but I'll deal with them either way. And I'll certainly do away with any spyware. Thanks for the link.
What I want is an isp that won't disconnect me after a day or two of continuous downloading. My present isp always lets me upload for days but often won't let me download very long before disconnecting me, though they used to let me go a week or more. They must have put a prick in charge or something and they're driving me nuts. |

Thanks napho. Seems like only noobs have technical trouble and I'll be sure to use a credit card since a lot of isp's try to scam people financially.
