The Mystery of the Bulge in the President's Jacket
Can you hear me now?
Elisabeth Bumiller What was that bulge in the back of President Bush's suit jacket at the presidential debate in Miami last week? According to rumors racing across the Internet this week, the rectangular bulge visible between Mr. Bush's shoulder blades was a radio receiver, getting answers from an offstage counselor into a hidden presidential earpiece. The prime suspect was Karl Rove, Mr. Bush's powerful political adviser. When the online magazine Salon published an article about the rumors on Friday, the speculation reached such a pitch that White House and campaign officials were inundated with calls. First they said that pictures showing the bulge might have been doctored. But then, when the bulge turned out to be clearly visible in the television footage of the evening, they offered a different explanation. "There was nothing under his suit jacket," said Nicolle Devenish, a campaign spokeswoman. "It was most likely a rumpling of that portion of his suit jacket, or a wrinkle in the fabric." Ms. Devenish could not say why the "rumpling" was rectangular. Nor was the bulge from a bulletproof vest, according to campaign and White House officials; they said Mr. Bush was not wearing one. http://www.nytimes.com/2004/10/09/po...n/09bulge.html |

Odd that - the town hall debate I thought it looked like he was wearing a vest. A bit of padding in the front and back that didn't fit his profile and the slight outline of arm holes near his shoulder blades. Maybe he's wearing a vest, maybe he just has badly fitting suits, maybe it's something else entirely. Who knows.

All the (bad or possibly damaging) News (about Bush) That's Fit to Print i don't remember reading anything in the Times about the internet rumors questioning what Kerry pulled out of his coat pocket at the start of the first debate. they're gonna run with this one though. what a surprise. Not wearing a vest? That would be Quite Surprising. In a way the bulge also reminds me of the equipment Lance Armstrong was wearing in this year's TDF time trial up L'Alpe d'Huez. Can anyone tell me what that is?

My theory is that they tried feeding him lines (and whoever 'they' are, they'd be really stupid not to at least think to try it) but alas, in trial runs he couldn't distinguish them from the little voices of Jesus and Satan in his head, so in a last-ditch effort they rigged him with a portable electroshock unit instead, thinking they could at least attempt to wean him from those ultracondescending flared nostril how-in-the-world-does-no-one-get-this-shit-but-me looks with some real-time aversion therapy. Realizing that the importance of the debates and the dignity of the presidency might merit something a little more state of the art than this device which caused him to appear as if he was cheating on Jeopardy, they'll be using a more advanced and undetectable suppository unit in the third round. |

It is most likely a low profile bullet proof vest, probably semi custom. The lump looks like one of the velcro closures, moved further to the back to make it less obvious. As to why it was denied that it is a vest, that would be for security reasons, it is a "nusciance" quality vest for handgun type attacks. An attacker who would jump out of a crowd (think Regan) and started shooting would go for the largest target, the center of mass, in essence the chest or back as it would be easy to hit. If one knew in advance the target was wearing a vest then they might choose a scoped rifle from a distance, which could easily penitrate a vest, or aim for the head.
A radio of any kind would be better hidden at belt level, at the small of the back. It would never be placed so high up the back. Excuse the spelling, it is late.

sometimes when i dry my clothes and lay them on something or put them on a hanger the clothes take the shape of what I hang them on. It will stay that way when i wear them as well.
Thus, the suit coat was wet and he laid it on a dugout that was on the coffe table. A dugout is a wooden box you put your weed in. |

Is Bush Wired? New Photo Analysis
Keep this text with this image, but spread it widely, put it on web sites, for all must know. The American press seems unwilling or afraid to report or investigate this story, as well as many other questionable issues of the Bush administration. The American people must know about the probability that Bush was wired and therefore probably cheated during the first Presidential debate. If true, it speaks volumes of the character of this President. The person who put this image together used simple techniques with commercial software used by amateur as well as professional photographers the world over. This person encourages others to reproduce the enhancements and to improve on them by using better quality video, and averaging more frames. Get the story out and do not let it die. But remain anonymous. The Bush administration is arresting peaceful demonstrators and will apparently stop at nothing to stop the truth. American Democracy is at stake.
