Azureus
When I got started using BT to get movies I started out using Burst! based on suggestions from others here and recomendations from the BT FAQ and it works perfectly. I had tried Shareaza before since I already had it installed but it didn't seem to work. Now with Shareaza 2.0 torrents seem to work fine, and it does something that Burst! doesn't do, it tells you what clients others in the torrent are using. A few of them don't seem to identify themselves, but the ones that do come up are Shareaza, Shadow, and Azureus. In fact the vast majority are from Azureus, at least from what I've seen, and yet I've never heard about it here before. Does anybody here use it? Does the Java based client work as well as single platform versions?

I have been using it from time to time and it seems to work well so far. I'm not a big fan of java based proggies so for me to like it it must be alright I haven't noticed any issues or system slowdowns and the interface is well designed. Works probably about the best of the few BT clients I have tried.
I'll give it 6 out of 10 = worth a try

i've had a lot of trouble getting transfers to actually gain speed on my line with other clients. i have been using Azureus for a couple of months and it works fabolous. a little heavy on the resources, but works without a hitch. definately recommended.

It's definitely the trendy BT program right now. I use something simpler - BitTornado, but Azureus is worth a try, especially if you want extra options and plug-ins to play with.

Azureus has a great interface but as blankname rightly said, a little heavy on resources being Java based. The javaw.exe process sometimes gets inflated to 90MB or more on high speed transfers/longer periods. The most useful plugin for it is probably the 'SuprNova Lister' using which, torrents could be downloaded directly from SuprNova.org.
