Breaking News: KaZaA Removed from Download.com!
"Cnet owned Download.com has removed the KaZaA download from it's site. They are apparantly concerned about Brilliant Digital's Automatic add on software package which has been reported to contain a stealth distribution p2p network."
KaZaa MUST have Download.com to survive. Will KaZaA bow down and remove the software? In my eyes, they must do it quickly. |

They don't have to...
with Brilliant Digital software, they could make your computer "download site". probably already distributed enough to outperform Download.com for KaZaa software download. |

They have been using other people to download from. It wasn't hosted on download.com, was it?

I would imagine that kazaa is scrambling to get the problem resolved... they don't want to not be included on download.com...

It's nice to see that download.com is taking a stand on this issue. Hopefully, that will send a message to Kazaa....somehow I doubt it though.

Can I safely remove the .bde files, or will it interfere with program?
Can I just delete them? Edit: Ok, now I see Tankgirs thread. I'm on a roll tonight.

glad somebody is paying attention
I am glad that download.com removed them. It sends a pretty clear message that they only support software that delare their full capabilities up front to eveybody.
KaZaA 1.6 I suspect that if they just ask nicely most people will join the ALTNET as I expect it will have some cool feature. So I expect them back after they rethink their public relations effort.
