Gnucleus 1.7 released
The new version of open source Gnutella client Gnucleus supports supernodes (or ultrapeers as they are called in Gnutella circles), and luckily the implementation is compatible with BearShare and LimeWire supernode implementation.
1.7 version features and bug fixes: - SuperNodes implemented - Processor usage configurable - Dedicated mode optional - Intelligent file indexing - Scheduler, tell Gnucleus to connect only at certain times during the day - All list boxes redone and enhanced to support dynamic sorting - Changes made to avoid file name conflicts when downloading - New routing mechanism, prevents local loops in network - Multi-Processor support improved - Added X-Try Header to help hosts connect to the network - Pong-Caching system integrated, yet inactivated - Stop button added to search window - Locked the hash table to prevent multi-threading problems - Better fallback method if IRC cache is unavailable The Morpheus Preview Edition is really the previous version of Gnucleus with Music City's brand wrappers attached. If you want to access the Gnutella network much better to get the real thing. See also comments on InfoAnarchy. - tg |
