plugin to try out... microphone related
antares microphone moduler
this is a directx audio plugin which basically takes a simple mic input and gives you the ability to turn it to studio-reference sound quality see where i'm going with that? say you have a decent sounding mic (doesn't matter which one, internal or external) and u sing or speak and record your or someone else's voice on your pc. if you're not satisfied with the sound quality your mic produces or if you just want a more "professional quality" voice, you can use this plugin to do just that. the module has a big microphone "sound bank". you can choose any microphone you want, any maker or model, and the program will simulate as though you recorded your voice with that particular mic just make sure that your recording is mono. because the resampling algorithms of windows are totally garbage, i suggest that you record your voice in stereo (16-bit 44.1kHz). then use a wav editor like sound forge or wavelab (even better than sound forge for this) to convert the signal to mono. so now you have a 16-bit 44.1kHz mono file. then play around with the plugin in order to use this plug you need to have a directx capable host, like sound forge, wavelab, cubase, cakewalk, acid, etc etc if anyone wants to try it out leave your name below and i'll send u the link |

What I really need is real-time microphone effects that I could use in live band work.
Such as a vocaliser, for instance. |
