Ares
Ok something funny happend on Ares. My Floppy drive made a noise like if I was loading a floppy out of no where and when I was in a chatroom I got disconnected for no reason the host didint disconnect me. Is there a hacker doing something? I dont have a firewall all I got is PeerGuardian. Is there a hacker doing something? Can someone guide me on how to put up a firewall.

If you have an "always on" ISP, 99.9% of people will say you MUST have a firewall.

I don't think that's a sign of being hacked but it wouldn't hurt to get a firewall. If the noise continues try Shareaza instead. I use the old Kerio 2.15. This is a nice simple setting.

im not sure the exact reason for it...but i have had it happen before. When it happened to me i was always on one specific computer at work...the best guess i can muster is that it had something to do with the way the network was set up...(because the computer, and the network for that matter were not net ready / connected)...possibly another computer on the network checking to make sure that it was still there?...never caused any problems tho
