The idea is to phase in a billing mechanism for peer to peer networks, such as Kazaa and Morpheus, that allow users to copy music directly from each other's hard drives.
Initially payments would be by credit card, but in the future downloads would be automatically detected and a charge added to the monthly internet service provider bill http://www.smh.com.au/articles/2003/...676097116.html Last edited by zombywoof : 09-10-03 at 10:07 PM. |

Hmmmm...........
Sounds good in the air but wonder how it'd look on paper? the idea of these people; kazaa, morpheus, whatever, having access to my cc gives me a rash. how many mistakes will they make before finally getting the bugs out of their systems? not with MY cc they won't. paypal may be more inline with the times, eh. hadn't thought about direct billing the isp account...... and, would this give the dl'er complete freedom to do what he pleases with his mp3? no extra charges for putting on portable player, burning to cd, sharing in general, etc. how much per month are they talkin? Hmmmmmmmm. |
