There's a Polish program similar to AudioGalaxy
It's called MediaSeek but it's been overwhelmed by AG ppl so it's down right now.

StereoDeluxe, here are some links that may help you :
http://melchiot.orakel.ods.org/~ruur...AGProtocol.htm http://sourceforge.net/projects/openags/ The problem is that AGSat is too "wired into" the central server farm. Each client connects to a redirecting server first though, so this may be its strong point! Quote:

Looks like they're on the ropes
MediaSeek.pl needs your help
As you all probably know since the fall of the free file exchange at AudioGalaxy many of its users migrated to MediaSeek.pl. For that and for your support so far we are grateful. Sadly, even though we are constantly working on improving the system performance, our servers are not powerful enough to manage all the traffic at the moment. What is more, due to the lack of paying advertisers or other sources of income we do not have the funds to obtain the server power that our network needs. It can happen that without external support we will have to terminate our service. That is why we turn to you for help. If you wish MediaSeek.pl to be the new place to go we ask you to support us with a symbolic amount of money in order to allow us to keep the whole thing online. If you wish to support us by a donation please mail us at donate@mediaseek.pl. If you think you could help us in any other way (invest, host, supply hardware etc.) mail us at help@mediaseek.pl. Thank you for your support MediaSeek.pl Team |

Now it's almost history
Dear Users,
We would like to thank all of you for your support so far. Sadly, we need to temporary suspend the file sharing and downloading feature. It is due to the outstanding interest in the service provided, which we unfortunately are not able to fulfill at the moment. What is ironic the main problem is popularity. The traffic and server load increased massively during the last days. Our old servers are insufficient for the purpose of keeping the system online and working. Unhappily we also had large problems with selling the advertising space that the site provided, what have lead to the lack of founds needed to keep MediaSeek.pl online in its full form. But do not worry! We do not believe that a rapidly growing community of 100 000+ users can disappear without notice. We see a chance to rescue the service and it is you who can make a difference. The way to rise founds is very simple. We do not require you to pay anything, but just support us. All you need to do to help is to simply accept some information from our sponsors. In order to do that, check out the link above. By signing up and enrolling to the newsletter you bring MediaSeek.pl a step closer to rebirth. We hope that the race is not over yet and that with your help we will soon get back on the right track. Additional info: Please, do not ask us about PayPal. As we are located in Poland we can not use the service of PayPal. Best Regards MediaSeek.pl Team |

Mediaseek is still around. Looks like it's growing. It has Gator spyware but you can eliminate all references except the clsid reg entry and it'll work fine.

the previous client is no longer supported because of the spyware no doubt so you'll have d/l the new version which leads me to this: if anyone has time to post a mediaseek spyware removal how-to it'll sure be appreciated by nu members and guests. - js. |
