questions about srt files
im new to srt files, and now have questions.
a. is a particular srt file made for a particular avi or mpg? are they perfect matched pairs, or can one from a differant rip work? also, b. what if you get flix that need translation, but no srt, is their a way to search for them? i tried google but what a forking mess, mostly explanations of what they are. thanks |

Do you know? 7 00:04:19,600 --> 00:04:21,680 Your husband died in the accident. 8 00:04:29,600 --> 00:04:34,600 But you weren't conscious all that time. 9 00:04:35,640 --> 00:04:37,720 Anne? 10 00:04:40,640 --> 00:04:42,720 Yes, your daughter too. So as long as you have different rips from the same cut/edition of the movie with roughly same play lengths you can use the same SRT file for all of them. Quote:

Here are some extra instructions regarding .SUBs (you can probably skip downloading the vobsubs software if you have Defilerpak installed): How to play vobsub subtitles To play these subtitles you need the program vobsubs. Get it here: http://vobsub.edensrising.com/vobsub.php Install the program. Unpack the rarfile, you now have two files, idx and rar. Put these two in the same directory as your avi file. All three files must have the same name. So you have: filename.avi filename.idx filename.rar (containing a subfile) Start up your movie and vobsub will load automatically. Notice the green arrow in your system tray, click it and you can choose your preferred language. - tg |

The only problem is that i've already installed the latest version of Vobsub and, no, It doesn't launch by itself when I play a movie, even tho i've triple checked that the files were the same name Had a lot of problems with my pc those last few month, even tho i've tried all the antivirus and spyware possible, it didn't find anything of significance to cause these problems... i'm afraid i'll have to reformat very soon, reinstalling winMe didn't work that's prolly the reason why those subs file didn't work even tho I've installed VobSub. |
