Sad yes, but if that's truly the case it had to be done. I wouldn't want to be the one weighing the lives of a plane full of people against that of a thousand or more others. But I'm glad we had someone with balls who did.

if you look at the pictures from the crash site you can clearly see a plane crashed into the ground. you can see the marks of the body and the wings in the ground. if it were shut down in the air you would have debris spread over a wide area.
