Well if you wanted to get technical, if Mexico were admitted to the union it would comprise states 51 through 81, not that it's ever gonna happen. Canada would then be states 81 through 94.
Nic, 50 states is plenty. Canada and Mexico already have republics of their own with democratically elected governments; they don't need ours. Individuals who want to become Americans have plenty of opportunities to do so, but not all Mexicans want to be Americans, and obviously most Canadians don't want to be Americans.
