Don't know how long this will last, end of the year probably (I could ask a Skype developer here at Napsterites lol) but Skype will pirate (make free promo) calls to regular US landlines and cell phones if you put a
+ sign and a
1 before the
area code & number you're dialing (ie
+1 234 555 6789). It works with versions both ancient and new. Bon voyage.
