Yep, and still do. Who should I believe? An adversarial press? Democrats that crave power like fat kids crave fudge? Get a clue.

All those people have to show for it is lies, spin and deceit, not to mention criminal behavior. It is sad really...
Nope, all we have are lower taxes, 2 shiny new conservative Supreme Court justices, abortion "rights" on the way out and 2 less middle eastern tyrants thumbing their noses at the world.

Quote:
Congressional Republicans came into office claiming to end corruption and big government and instead of ending either of them, they raised them both to a new level...
Hahaha a Democrat supporter bemoaning "big government", what a hoot. I bet if all that "big government" spending went towards liberal projects you would be hailing today as the beginning of a new golden age! And don't act as if Democrats are puritans when it comes to corruption. They are just as guilty.

Lobbyist and convicted felon Jack Abramoff's relationship with Republicans have put some behind bars and others with pending criminal prosecution. Republican Rep. Randy "Duke" Cunningham was convicted of taking bribes from defense contractors. Illegal activities were occurring in Republican Congressman and former Republican House Majority Leader Tom DeLay's office. He has stepped down from Congress while he faces trial on campaign fundraising charges. Michael Scanlon, DeLay's former aide has pleaded guilty to conspiring to bribe public officials and DeLay's former chief of staff Tony Rudy has pleaded guilty to conspiracy charges. Jack Abramoff has ties to many Republicans including Montana Senator Conrad Burns, the Christian Right's Ralph Reed and others. But it doesn't end there. Republican Senate majority leader Bill Frist is under investigation for insider trading. There seems to have been a lot of criminal activity under the Republican Congress...
Once again, you seem reluctant to include Democrats. Harry Reid enjoyed Abramoff directed funds. read more on the Dem/Abramoff connection here. Every 2 term president in the history of this country has had these non-scandal scandals pop up in their second term, to act as if it's strictly a Republican problem shows either willfull ignorance of history or a straight up attempt at deceit. It's even worse now that the Dem golden boy got caught breaking the law and nearly lost his job for it, that sent them into full blown dementia.

There has been a lot of government under a Republicans. They expanded government and the debt while cutting taxes. Basically they pay for a larger government by charging it and having the next generation pay for it long after they have retired to their condos in Florida. Your kids and your kid's kids will be paying for the oversp
And how is this any different than the way government has worked since...well forever? We're all still paying for Democrats (specifically FDR) bloat of the government, and that was over 60 years ago. Anything the republicans have done pales in comparison to needless government expansion under Democratic leadership.

Quote:
What did the Republican Congress and Republican White House give you?
I explained above. They gave me a meatier tax refund for the last 4 years, a strong conservative foothold on the SCOTUS and less middle eastern genocidal assholes.

Quote:
They gave you a war. They have no idea how to win the war nor how to get out of the war but they gave you it anyway...
They have an idea how to win it, by not letting Democrats get ahold of the reigns. we'll surely lose it once that happens. Democrats are bound and determined to lose as badly as possible in Iraq, they don't care about the Iraqis that are free for the first time in 40 years. They want to bring the troops home so they can cut a few more divisions from the military, sending thousands of Americas finest to the unemployment line, they love the troops! And don't say they wouldn't because they did it when Bubba was in charge.

Quote:
The Republicans increased the size of government creating the Department of Homeland Security.
9-11 showed clearly that coordination between intelligence agencies was badly needed. DHS and the Patriot ACT facilitated that. It was needed, unlike useless Democrat created agencies like the DoE.

Their first big test was helping the Gulf Coast after Hurricane Katrina and they failed miserably, leaving men, women and children to fend for themselves for days. If they respond that bad when they know a hurricane is coming, just imagine how they would respond to a sudden terrorist nuclear attack. I think it is pretty safe to assume if an attack happens in your city, you are on your own so prepare with Hurricane Katrina in mind...
Katrina was a local problem first, and the Democrats in charge at the state level failed. The Democrats even at the city level failed. Nagin let 200 school buses sit and get flooded instead of ordering them used in the evacuation. That's incompetance. Funny how that when Florida is hit by a hurricane, as we often are, things work out pretty well, orderly evacuation, adequate shelters, supplies, maybe that's because we have state leadership that aren't walking bungholes like the Dem leadership in LA.

The Republicans were ready to turn over the control of key American ports to United Arab Emirates based Dubai Ports World. After 9/11 one would question turning over control of American ports to an Arab government company but most Republicans seem to be okay with it until the media made it public. It must make those that voted Republican wonder why they did when they look at the record...
DPW controls ports all over the world and US ships dock at them daily. Your insinuation that merely because they're arab they can't be trusted is nothing but racism. DPW is world known for being very reputable and in compliance with every required maritime security measure. Great way to help out a much needed ally in the War on Terror.

Now court documents show that the White House leak in the CIA leak investigation was leaked by President Bush himself.
If the info is declassified, it's not a leak.

Quote:
Vice President Dick Cheney's former chief of staff, Lewis "Scooter" Libby testified that he was told by Cheney that Bush authorized him to leak classified information to the media. Bush has stated he would fire anyone that leaked classified information.
read a paper. Bush has the authority to declassify info as he sees fit. He did that and it was released.

Quote:
Now you are talking semantics here. A president can declassify information, so one could argue that if a president authorizes it then it is no longer classified however there is a certain process used to declassify information and Bush didn't use the proper methods to declassify the information so it may have still been classified.
How do you know? Where you there? What are these "certain processes" to declassify info. Please tell us since you have all the answers. This is nothing but another media driven "scandal". He declassified the info and had it released, get over it.

Quote:
Bush knew who the leaker was and yet he still said he would fire anyone that leaked classified information.
Wrong, he said he'd fire anyone that leaked Plame's name. At this point it's looking more and more like she wasn't even covert and the info came from the press anyway.

Quote:
Now if you believe the argument that it wasn't classified, at the very least President Bush misled the American people by not telling them that he declassified the information and by pretending he didn't know who leaked it.
In your rush to hate you've confused two different things, which is understandable since the media is trying their best to tie them together. The NIE "leak" was declassified info used to show Joe Wilson was a liar about Iraq and Niger, info he by the way admitted was correct in his book. The Plame "leak" was...well whatever the hell it is.

Quote:
Either way, if the president really did authorize Libby to leak it then he is a scoundrel for misleading the American people. If Cheney lied to Libby and President Bush didn't authorize the leak, then the scoundrel is Cheney...
Once again, releasing declassified info isn't leaking.

Quote:
I do feel a little sorry for those people that voted Republican. They are looking pretty stupid these days with all the lies and corruption.
I feel sorry for those that voted Democrat. You got nothing out of all the time and money spent. Your party has degenerated into nothing more than a platform to spew hate. You have no new ideas and no new plans for America. Democrats haven't come up with a new idea since the Depression, and even that did more harm than good.

Quote:
I feel especially sorry for those that are still proud of voting Republican, not only did they get fooled in the last election, they are so dumb that they will do it again.
Wow, with such love shown for them by you and your side I can't possibly see why they wouldn't vote for Democrat! Hey here's an idea, instead of running on no agenda other than Bush hatred how about you guys come up wih some compelling reasons to vote Democrat other than tired old slogans swiped from MoveOn.org newsletters? I know it sounds crazy but it's typically how elections are won.

Quote:
Republicans are consistent; they make the same mistakes over and over again...
A Democrat never make mistakes, ever , except perjury and witness tampering...hmmm wonder who that was? As bad as you think Bush is at least he hasn't been impeached, that's an honor we save for Democrats only.
